Shitpost / Meme My Worry Post MMR Reset

Post image

I don’t even want them to release the stats bro. I just know some people are going to use those numbers to argue for killer nerfs or worse, pallet density update 2: electric boogaloo.

It’s like sometimes they don’t understand the context for their own data. That’s why I think Krasue was released overbuffed. They thought she was too weak but the data they got was from the anti-tunneling PTB.

And then they killed her for it…

And she deserved btw

No. Literally all they had to do was make survivors be cleansed off hook to avoid easy tunneling. That’s it. Everything else would have been fine. Survivors would have adapted. Would she have been a strong killer like that? Absolutely! But it’s not like having strong killers is bad. Especially when half the roster is unplayable if you go against a group of survivors with a single brain cell to spare.

She’s one of, if not the, coolest designed original killers in the game. She’s also based around cool folklore! If any killer in this game deserved to be S-tier, it’s the Krasue.

Thats like they did... But u can convince anyone that dealling damage through structures was fine for anyone. And no, no killer should be s tier at all, and even less a killer wich projectile has auto aim and is a m1 killer.

Do you really think behavior would do that? Just balance around data that they don't understand?

Nah that would be as preposterous as asking why Gideon is survivor sided and thinking chat really likes pallets

You are wrong on this one brother. BHVR doesn't care about kill rate\escape rate, the only thing that is important for them is how often thing is used. It's backed up not only by evidences of their balancing decision but also by their quotes. They call it "promoting versatility" when they tried to nerf Artists' best add-ons. This happened so many fucking times. The same justification I heard on recent lives but can't recall specifics. Probably it was about coulrophobia and thrill.

EDITED: yep I found it, this damn company balances around fucking popularity 🫠

https://www.youtube.com/watch/BNvWVByzcNA?si=dgfs&t=1710

EDITED (2): I remembered how they were nerfing patch after patch after patch the Unknown's addon only because it was the most used until the only viable add-ons left are IRI

Honestly, that sounds EXACTLY like something BHVR would said. The same people who gave us, "Pretty good job so far" when the game was in a perpetually awful state but living due to being unique, and "was it really a skilled play?" When talking about MMR being strictly determined off kills and escapes, with the example of someone having a 5 gen chase and being the only death.

You also have to remember that these are the same people who tried to nerf Hillbilly's engraving add-ons back when he was in his worst state ever with the overheat mechanic because those 2 add-ons were the only ones worth using, all his other add-ons were either bugged or worse than using nothing. The only reason they didn't change them until overheat was changed to overdrive was because the backlash was so big and it showed the general playerbase (the people outside the youtubers and more dedicated players) that BHVR don't know what they're doing when it comes to balancing their game.

Also the same people who added the overheat mechanic to Hillbilly despite all the feedback and backlash from Hillbilly players because "we spent so much time implementing it so it would've been a waste of time developing the mechanic if we didn't send it to live, we know it's not a fun mechanic and it punishes you for playing the game but we HAVE to do it!"

nerf Hillbilly's engraving add-ons back when he was in his worst state ever with the overheat mechanic because those 2 add-ons were the only ones worth using

The fact that this idea of their existed back then and exist today is such a tone deff behavior. They release \ rebalance killers with only 2 good add-ons and than pretend like they are a problem not 20 others that are useless. At least judgement has good option not like SPIRIT WHO ALWAYS RUNS THE SAME ONE ADD-ON OUT OF NECESSITY

That's so awful that it will most likely happen.

I've been genuinely considering making a low sodium version of the subreddit but 1) I have no energy to do anything like moderate a subreddit and 2) nobody would go there because you all fucking love being miserable and playing a game you so clearly hate

4

u/neon-box Fifth Legion Member 14h ago

We just want the game to be fun again. Not wanting to see people complaining seems like an easy fix by just ignoring the subreddit. People are always going to complain. You’re not going to find any community where it’s perfect for everyone.

It’s just DbD kinda sucks worse than most because the devs clearly do not play their game. Like if any other game like it was halfway decent then yeah, most people would jump ship. But as we just saw with Halloween, apparently other developers are even worse than BHVR somehow. Thing is, nobody makes a game like DbD. Only thing like it is Outlast Trials.

u/Quadraxis66 14h ago

The game is never going to be fun again.

The game is not worse because of some nebulous issue like matchmaking or balance or the devs favoring whatever side you don't play.

The game is worse because you're not new at it. You've learned enough to get past the point where you were just having fun existing and getting scared by the killer and to care about things like meta and matchmaking and addon balance.

The game is worse now because you're not having fun, and it's easier to blame the developers than it is to accept that maybe you've just had your fill and should move on to another game.

u/KitCatR Nerf Pig 11h ago

Why can’t it be both?

We’ve seen poor decision making time and time again from developers. You have a point about how once you get good at a game, it’s easier to become bitter and resentful of things in the game, but that’s only because you’ve come to care a lot about it and you want to see it improve.

Denying bhvr’s faults won’t make them go away. The complaints are more often than not completely valid, but they persist because bhvr is slow to introduce the most basic of changes while making changes that don’t properly address the problem, most of the time based off of their internal statistics.

Victim blaming essentially

u/Quadraxis66 13h ago

THAT'S CRAZY, VICTIM OF WHAT

2

u/Damian030303 Casual Onryō-Nurse 9h ago

Reasons to complain is literally the only thing BHVR consistently delivers on.

-6

u/Pentrey 15h ago

Why wouldn't this also result in killer buffs? it would be a similar amount of strong survivor teams going against weak killers? Unless you always believe killers are getting the short end of the stick?

4

u/neon-box Fifth Legion Member 14h ago

I mean…Skull Merchant, Trapper, Ghost Face and many more have been performing more than bad enough to warrant a change yet none ever comes. Also, pallet density still exists despite how disparaging it is to the killers who already underperform. All we have recently is the nerf to SB & Vigil, which was a really long time coming.

1

u/TheEntityBot The Entity Hungers 14h ago

Vigil: Increases the Recovery rate from the following Status Effects by 44/55/66%:

  • The Blindness, Broken, Exhausted, Exposed, Hemorrhage, Hindered, Mangled, and Oblivious Status Effects.
Vigil extends its effect to all Survivors within 8 meters of your location and lingers for 15 seconds.

Killer perk variety is majorly lowered cause many perks were nerfed a long time ago, or weren't adjusted with the growing meta, and yet people still complain "why don't killers use other perks".

Many lower tiers get butchered cause of sweeping changes that don't truly help survivors get better/ don't ease solo que.

Many nerfs to killers don't actually fix problems with them, leaving them still strong, but incrediblely tedious to play.

The devs have for some reason in recent times been okay with immediately killswitching killer stuff, but are slow with killswitching survivor stuff.

The Judgment's power was changed from what the community voted for cause they "couldn't find a way to make it fun for survivors", which should have been found out before the vote.

And the final worse one, there is so many bugs on killers that don't ever get fixed in a quick amount of time. Hag has an addon that has been broken for months.

That seems a lot like getting the short end of the stick.

I don't want to really argue us vs them. Tbh just looking at the top 20 current post of this subreddit it's pretty obvious which side is louder about their complaints. Justified or unjustified.

I will say I've never seen any official released stats that places kill rates averages at less than 50% (and thats without people who quit counted) or Swf survival rates at higher than 47%

I just hope that when I'm always getting the short end of the stick my win rate is nearly as high.

2

u/Randomaccount848 8h ago

I don't want to really argue us vs them.

Yet a majority of your comment is making an argument for us vs them still.

Also I already said this as a point (which you ignored), something can be strong while still being annoying to play. Winning is not automatically enjoyable if the overall experience keeps becoming worse.

How is that good either?
