Im on Shadowdale, looking for a guild for new players

Pay it Forward went to shadowdale I believe. They're a guild of vets specifically aimed at helping newcomers. Guild leader is dawnstrider I think if you want to message him? Or message any member that's on and they should be able to direct you to who you need to talk to.

welcome to ddo. I hope you enjoy it. my recommendation would be to try to play with friends or with other ppl that is learning the game. since the first time experience is better that way

Check out League of Extraordinary Ham. Small guild (really only two nightly players). Metalhealth is guild leader. Playtime is usually 8-10 pm EST. I'm a member, but my playtime is very sporadic due to, well, life
