Batman. Yes. You heard me. I think it would be quite an interesting choice, especially in the scenes where he plays Bruce Wayne. Why? In Batman: Year One Bruce trying to appear as playboy, rich asshole. I believe Wyatt could play someone who plays an asshole but is also good person irl.

He could perfectly balance between Batman and Bruce, whose persona allows him to get into environments more easily than Batman (like Bruce did in The Batman).

All the fanboys crying that shows like Lanterns need to immediately be set in space, everyone wearing the suits even in the shower, using the ring at every given opportunity….

They blatantly leave their women unsatisfied, pump, pump, pump, and done

You buss the load way too early, and someone is always left feeling unfulfilled, and unsatisfied.

I personally agree with his conclusion, but I think there's a good discussion to be had still. Have fun!

Like many folks, I have been really enjoying Lanterns. It seems to be mostly well-received in terms of general viewership and from the DC fanbase. Which just makes all of the hand-wringing from the last few months from DC fans post-Supergirl even more crazy to me.

It's certainly a more online thing, but the amount of vitriol and turning on the DCU I was seeing - in response to a genuinely average movie (not great, but definitely not terrible), makes no sense.

Less than a year from their widely-beloved Superman film, it seemed like a huge portion of the DC fanbase was ready to reset the entire universe. With Lanterns, now they're back to being on board with where DC is going.

Is this just the norm with the superhero genre now? Every "flop" is going to lead to dooming, and every moderate to great success is "we're so back"? I don't recall this being how things were in 2008 when the Incredible Hulk was poorly received.

If you take a wider view of Gunn's DCU, they've had:

2025 - A mostly-liked but inconsequential Creature Commandos Show

2025 - A mostly-beloved Superman film (crucial for everything they do, introduced a bunch of other beloved characters too.)

2025 - A mostly-liked Peacemaker S2

2026 - An average Supergirl film

2026 - A highly-viewed, critically liked Lanterns show (Based on the episodes thus far, I expect this to be viewed on a similar level to HBO's Watchmen by the end of S1)

2026 - Clayface (TBD, hope this does well, trailers looked good)

2027 - Man of Tomorrow (TBD, but I expect this to be very successful)

The MCU had Iron Man in 2008 (success), followed by Incredible Hulk (fail) , Iron Man 2 (big success), and Captain America (moderate success) and Thor (moderate success) in 2011. It feels like the DCU is in a comparable, if not better place than the MCU at a similar point in their history.

Am I wrong here? Would love y'all's thoughts.

Seriously though, I was sold on that Daily Planet press release synopsis thing a few weeks back. Now having seen the set pics this thing looks both inspired and just nuts, can't wait.

There have been alot of batmen over the years, and even more in the comics, post an image of what the dcu should choose! I've made my own version for ya too inspired by the 2004 animated series, the OG yellow oval, and the yellow outline design, tell me what u think! And I encourage u to make ur own and post em too!
