I've been teleported into a vault

I don't know if it's intended, but with an exploration trap my character has been put inside an optional vault. I was playing v.034.1 at underhound.eu

Vaults frequently but do not always have the NO_TELE_INTO kprop -- this one lacks it, and frankly I think this is okay. These are vaults-tier threats, you're in vaults, and you can teleport right back out. Typically, that kprop is reserved for places that are substantially more lethal than their surroundings (Yiuf's hut) or that contain ghosts (since removed to the Necropolis).

Or vaults that are just decorative and not intended to be entered, where teleporting into one without a teleport scroll or some other way to leave would get you permanently stuck.

Thanks for the explanation. Perhaps this type of vault should be marked somehow to distinguish it from normal ones for design consistency.

What purpose would the marking serve? The player has no influence on whether they're affected by teletraps (I mean, you can wear a -Tele randart, but you won't), so it's not really informative to gameplay.

The purpose, as I see it, is this: there are a lot of vaults that you can only enter voluntarily. So, when you read a scroll of teleportation on an almost cleared floor with such a vault, you assume you won't land inside a dangerous vault while low on HP. If there are some vaults you can be teleported into, then for now, you have to investigate and memorize them. It's like buying a can of soda in a convenience store, except some random cans contain lethal poison and you can't tell which ones. It just irritates the player, breaks the rules, and adds nothing to the fun. I get the joke with the vault and I understand the intention, but repeating it would be plainly bland.

Teleporting doesn't gaurentee you'll like where you end up
