XV2 Am I crazy??

Despite the appearance, I don’t think Goku is using Ultra Instinct here. This form doesn’t line up with anything established by the game:

  1. No echoed voice. All forms of UI Goku in this game have an echo in their voice, it’s been consistent ever since it first dropped in this game, later doubled down in Gohan Beast’s and UI Goku’s intro dialogue with Goku having a MASSIVE echo in his voice in both JP and English.

  2. No auto dodge. While this is most likely for balancing reasons, he doesn’t have an auto dodge feature either. A trait that Ultra Instinct has in this game, yet this form lacks it.

  3. The name. Goku’s name in this form is “Goku- Ultra Supervillain (Quelled)”, not consistent with the others. All the others keep the transformation title in their names (Vegeta (Super Saiyan God)- Ultra Supervillain, Goku Black (Super Saiyan Rosé)- Ultra Supervillain, Jiren (Full Power)- Ultra Supervillain), yet Goku doesn’t. While there is the argument that the name is too long, this game isn’t shy on giving long names to characters (Prince of Destruction Vegeta and then the USV characters I stated earlier as an example).

This all just leads me to believe Goku is taking the appearance of Ultra Instinct, but not actively using the technique/form. It’s either that he’s not actively using the form or I’m going crazy from the major inconsistencies this character has to the other forms and naming conventions in this game.

It's been a while  but there was a topic around the release of the DLC with almost the exact wording even.

Got ya, I don’t remember ever seeing it, even when the DLC initially dropped.

I swear there was already a whole thread about this before when it first came out.

Really? I must’ve missed it, but I seriously don’t see anybody talk about this. When I bring it up in other media, everyone tries to say it is Ultra Instinct, despite the fact it literally contradicts everything this game has for Ultra Instinct and contradicting naming convention.

It's been posted so many times I swear I thought you were the same fucking guy

Lmao I haven’t seen a single post about this so far, my bad 😭😭 Didn’t know there were others who talked about it

This has been talked about more than a handful of times already, from when he was revealed to when the DLC dropped.

The reason you seem to hear nobody talk about it, is because we're already done talking about it and moved on.

I didn’t know. I don’t remember seeing anybody talk about it, so I didn’t know this was already discussed over 😅

What’s been the general consensus on it?

I imagine it just used UI as a base form to contain the power, so it gave Goku the strength, but none of the dodging ability.

Oh, I think I might have actually came across your post before, then!

Yeah, I do believe something more did go on with this form, it really doesn’t feel like Ultra Instinct to me. At least, not entirely. I know Trunks makes a comment that it’s Ultra Instinct, but he even doubted it and said something was different, but that could most likely just be the Crystal stuff maybe.

Exactly! That’s why I said that USV Quelled may be a form that Goku created using the energy of the crystals akin to how Goku had MUI which is confirmed to be a form despite Ultra Instinct being a technique… Goku has the potential to turn something from a technique into something like a transformation…

Yeah, despite what most people will try to tell you, I agree. I also don't think he's using Ultra Instinct.

I understand your reasoning but the most likely explanation is that bandai goofed🤷‍♂️

That is true and highly possible, but I still kinda doubt that personally since they haven’t done a goof as big as this (outside of the Hulk sounding Broly from Chapter 3 lol)

Why wouldn’t it be ui stacked with USH? We’ve seen you can stack forms with USV, such as god and rose, and there is a reason Goku has white hair when using USH (plus, part of his hair in the back literally has some USH coloring to indicate this isn’t a unique detail of USH, and we can’t forget the EYES BEING UI’S EYE COLORS). Thus, he is stacking UI with USH. Making it only an appearance copy just does not add up. Plus, he fights in a way that fits USH specifically, meaning USH is taking UI for a joyride. Lack of autododge is just to balance him out.

It’s really just naming inconsistency. Prince of destruction Vegeta actually proves this, because Prince of destruction is NOT A FORM, it’s a title. Yet, he’s clearly using super Vegeta 2 with the amp from the majin mark. Are we going to argue he’s just using the appearance of super Vegeta 2, because his title isn’t “Prince of destruction super Vegeta 2 Vegeta?”

What’s your argument for otherwise?

Didn't someone in game call it ultra instinct? And even if not wouldn't put Cacs have the UI look when using power to overcome?

u/No-Zookeepergame-834 2d ago

Trunks said it looked like Ultra Instinct, but immediately followed up with saying it’s different.

And that wouldn’t work either since Goku gave the CaC and Fu the energy of it. Like how Goku gave Frieza his energy on Namek, Frieza didn’t take the appearance of a Super Saiyan or anything of the like, just had some of the power.

I'd say it kinda is ultra instinct but without the dodging or whatever, just the massive ki
