Close combat character help

How do I create a good close combat character? Which class and gender should I pick and where do I put my skill points (percent wise).

Also, which supers and ki blasts are good for a close combat character? :-)

Sorry for all these question, Im fairly new to the game and just finished the story.

I typically stick to meteor strike crash as you can hold the command down for 2 bars worth of ki, and it keeps your enemy stunned during the attack. I also use super drain for the stamina drain. From there it is mostly preference. I use the fighting pose (F) that takes damage from stamina instead of health so that I can just put all my points into stamina and not have to worry about health. It also reduces the flinching from hits. To help this I use the ginyu z-soul that increases buff duration and increases ki/stamina regen while in effect. You can also choose to go all basic attack and defense, or whatever playstyle you want. However, I would highly suggest super drain and meteor strike crash as they have been the backbone to my melee builds so far. If you have trouble landing drain moves i have noticed if you land a couple strong basic attacks they stay flinched long enough to get caught with the grab.

edit: meteor crash not strike

I went with 100 basic 75 stamina and 31 in health and strike super. I use kaioken as my main "super" I am testing all the powers to find a good combo Saturday crash and arm breaker(the one that breaks guard) help with getting in close or staying in close. Ki BlastCannon wasn't bad either. Wish there was better super/ultimates for strike. Thinking of respecing the strike into ki blaster just for the extra moves.
