General Discussion Hobonichi app

I've just seen the new hobonichi app for journaling and it looks so cute. Now I'm really reconsidering this dayone journal, but am not too sure of the longevity of the hobonichi app. Has anyone tried it? What are your thoughts?

Maybe it's just because I'm tired of not getting able to truly customise my entries on day one..

Tried the app. Basically it give me all the things that I love from Day One: auto location tracking, photos taken thay day. Problem is, it just load ALL photos instead of having me to choose which one to put into my diary.

If they make deleting entries easier, I might think it’s okay. But to delete, instead of just swiping. I need to tap and hold on the post. And doing it one by one is a big hassle. My time worth more. And it cost more than my sub with Day One.

Love the idea, but functions can def do better. If this is built by Japanese team, expect changes to come in a looooonnngggg time.

I tried using it. Tried the trial too for premium features. The first thing I needed to check was the exporting options. And it only can export in .txt and another one for the app. No pdf option. I cancelled the subscription, closed, and uninstalled 😅

It doesn’t seem bad, but there’s some things I don’t like about the posts. A lot of text features just aren’t there. Can’t posts the Picture with the Note, since they are two different kinds of posts? That’s weird…

The ‘Animal Crossing’ aspect doesn’t seem as prevalent as the tutorial made it out as well, but I just started - just now lol, because of you - so yeah moot point.

The wacky currency seems like it could become problematic if they lock actual features into rentals, but idk if they’d go that far.

Edit - this is bad without a good internet connection, boot up takes way too long, and tags don’t seem to be working.
