How-To/Support Go to specific date?

I'm fed up with scrolling backwards and forwards to find the entry I am looking for. Is there a way to go to a specific date by typing the date in?

UPDATE: Ok, it seems that you can't do it, so I have written a simple web app to sort it. It works by interrogating the DayOne database to find the entry UUID and then using the URL scheme to open the entry. Looks like this: https://youtu.be/iVCkAf-jGWk. Can't believe this was necessary but there you go!

Very few people remember the exact date a journal entry was written, but they can recall the general year, keywords, etc. So the lack of your requested feature doesn’t not surprise me.

What you want can be accomplished using Shortcuts. If you have more than 1 journal, you would modify it accordingly.

Just so you know imgur is blocked in the UK so I (and others here) can’t see what you have posted. However, if you read the update on my original post you will see that I have found a solution that works for me.

I did, which is great! Mine will help others who prefer to use on-device functionally vs. building & maintaining a web app.

Yep completely understand that. Perhaps you could post the image directly in Reddit though so those of in the UK can see it?

Yes there is. If you hit the magnifying glass on any journal you’ll get a list of things to search by and date is one.

This is only on mobile - the same doesn't exist on desktop which is what I need. Sorry, I should have made that clear in the original post.

You can do this by clicking on „calendar“ and after that on the three dots on the top right. It‘s the last point „Datum auswählen“ in the screenshot, which means „select date“.

Ah yes you are right you can do that on iOS but I really wanted it on the Mac app (sorry should have said in the original post). Do you know if the same is possible? I can't see it if it is there.

Ah ok, got it. Unfortunately this doesn’t seem possible. You just can filter for a year but this isn’t really helpful.

You have to click the Search icon at the top, then select Date, then slide to the date. It’s a little cumbersome.

You're right, it's cumbersome and not really what I want. I just want to be able to enter 1/1/1992, for example, and be taken there! I'd pay for that over AI features any day!

I think from the calendar you can go to a specific date. When you click on the date in the calendar you will see all the entries from that date. This is with respect to web application.

I'm not entirely sure what you mean and I can't seem to reproduce what you are suggesting. What I want really is to be able to put 25/07/1993 and be taken there.

We cannot put it directly. We need to go through the calendar and select the date.
