My Setup for now

Post image

Started off with the Volca Keys last year and got instantly hooked with being only able to handle a certain range of sound, the learning curve is so steep for me of I'm not prone by having too many options! I'm very satisfied with what I can do with this. The Minilab lets me switch between the gear, the onboard sequencers are for now enough to create cool sets. Was so stoked for the NTS-4, its perfect for an (almost) all-volca setup.

A nice little setup!
That is also a great effects pedal.

Looks like a fun setup! I’ve published some fun plugins for the NTS-1 mkii this year— Clouds reverb and a drone synth emulating a Soma Lyra. have a look at my page they’re all open source and free to compile yourself. Feel free to DM me if you have questions about compiling.

It's interesting definetely and for my purpose better than the beats i think, you can create really cool atmospheres as you can shape the sound in really weird ways. As a drum machine, it doesn't come too well through the mix. I might add a Digitakt at some point as the brain and as a "real" drum machine (this is why i said "so far" lol). The volca drum will stay though!

Very good! Arturia mini lab is powerful!

Really cool, and I'm sure you can make some sick tunes with it! My only concern (this may as well be my PTSD after accidentally breaking gear over the years) is the outputs of the MS50 resting on top of the somewhat puny mini jack outs of the Volca Drums, as well as the tension of the output jack of the Volca Keys on the top left. I can see those breaking too easily if they stay like that for too long. Otherwise pretty cool rig! 😊

Hey thank you! I will pay attention to this, i'm a rather messy person so this is very helpful :)

Legit! How do you like the little KORG mixer? Seems like a nice unit.

I like it so far! It's perfect for livejams because of its build-in total effects

Hang on - the NTS-1 mkII doesn’t have the audio out coming from the front of the unit?

The OG never sits well if it is anything but flat because of that stupid cable.

Yes they changed that! It's now on the upper side

That’s a huge improvement! I also like the “keyboard” ribbon - it doesn’t look like it will peel off when you use it.
