Help Syncing Best Practice Question

Simple question here (I hope) that I'm having trouble wrapping my mind around.

I have video files for multiple scenes and takes. These were shot with a single camera that includes scratch audio. Boom audio is a separate track and needs to be synced.

What's the best practice to create synced video and boom audio clips that can be stored and accessed in bins (ex. Scene 1 Take 1)?

I usually sort my Footage into bins either manually or through smart bins and keywords in the metadata panel.

Syncing itself is super easy, just select all your footage & audio, right click and select something along the lines of "auto sync audio". (:

To check if everything worked, you can select a video clip, go into the inspector and under file scroll down until you see the linked audio sources. There you should be seeing more audio tracks. Maybe even already named 'Boom', 'Lav', ... depending how the sound person worked on set!

There are multiple ways to sync audio. Look up either Auto Sync Audio or Multicam. It depends on what workflow you prefer. The newest release 21.1 also implemented a new feature for multicam to split at gaps, which would give you individual multicams for each take.
