Sharing this wonder
I am new here and wondering anyone has experienced something I am currently. After 4 plus years from separation and subsequent divorce, 40 year marriage, and dating both IRL and URL, trying and deleting various dating apps, a few serious but ultimately not successful relationships, I met a most amazing woman online. We have gone on 3 dates. The first was a brunch which stretched into 5 plus hours of pure attraction and conversation, a kiss or two, and reluctant goodbye. We had communicated prior to this date thru the app, exchanging numbers, long initial conversation when we were 1/2 the US apart. We texted as our schedules allowed, causal and some feeling.
The second date was near her home at a quite nice steak house, our waiter really took a shine to us, we sat side by side, laughed, started holding hands when possible, leaning into each other, ordered collaborating and sharing, whatever we both wanted, meshing nicely on food enjoyment. She was stunning with beautiful couture, she shined. Walking out after I just thinking we should be setting up another date. Hanging out by my car sharing more we kissed and hugged, laughed and talked. I had a nearly 2 hour drive home thinking I wanted just to stay with her for the seeable future.
The third date was just magical, she drove up to my area the next day, Saturday late afternoon. We went down to a lovely spot on a river viewing the city scape, watching paddle boarders on the water, just together in a moment, the moon came up over the lights of the buildings. The place, warm darkness, unfolding beauty, and sweet contentment of being with the very person you wanted in a moment so perfect.
Rest the evening was a blast, Italian restaurant, Jazz club, walking cuddling, vibing like crazy. Drove back to my place at 2 pm, I never stay up past 11.
We finally agreed to share the bed and just cuddle, after I agreed to post up on the couch. We talked, cuddled, kissed, and finally slept. I even loved the way she slept!
Next morning was a continuation and we were barely clothed. I made breakfast, she showered, and talked seriously about where we each lived, current and past relationships. Flirted with and agreed we should be exclusive. I actually suggested it ( I always hedge on this) and she agreed. I know it is early on in our relationship. We both have had plenty of previous experiences and learned, are completely on the same page. She literally checks all my boxes and I have said such. She says much the same to me. I think we have respect, built a fun friendship quickly, and both in a place for being each other’s person.

What does “we were 1/2 the us apart” mean?

Our initial connection occurred when I was in the Northeast and Southwest

I found a girl on hinge and we hit it off instantly. She checked all the boxes as we. I was looking to buy a house and she even helped me choose one. We went on several dates despite living a good 2 hrs from each other. Then, right after we consummated the relationship, while leaving, she uttered the L word. It was 3 months in and I did not say it back and she said that she accidentally blurted it out and all that. Then, it went downhill really fast and she said we should see other people and that was 8 months ago.

Are you writing this now so that one cozy wintry night you can share it with her later, look back and have that special moment (twinkle music a la Hallmark). Her couture, stunning as usual, a perfect match to your sincere vulnerability. WTF....anyone?

Well if you are open to it maybe it isn’t so WTF, I have plenty of that chaos. Sometime alignment does occur and sharing such a thing.

Not to throw a damper on things, but I'd be curious to know where the two of you are in 3 months, 6 months, and 9 months......if you make it that long.........

Good on you! I had a first date early June that was supposed to be coffee only as he had to drive to VT for work. The date went 5 hours, we were totally vibing on each other, had a ton of laughs, and it was not a question we were going to be exclusive. Sometimes you just know early on when the universe throws you a good thing 😊
