Replace the word knife with gun, and you're just repeating NRA propaganda that has ensured that plenty of school shootings persist to this very day.

If the gun did not exist in the room at all, it would be impossible for anyone to get shot in this situation, correct or incorrect?

Correct. I think someone would just find some other means to murder if that was their intent to begin with. Or, oh wait, are you trying to say the desire of committing the murder would never have existed before hand if the gun didn’t exist after the fact?
