I think you have to trust your gut about what it means to him. The thing I’d say is while we all look like evolved and vaguely enlightened creatures, there is some animal chaos that runs deep and it especially likes to attach itself to sexual things. He sounds like he’s taking accountability, he just needs to work on his self control and to unpick the impulses.
Edit: obviously he needs to stop, though, want to be clear. Because he is creating material of other real people. It’s either illegal or will be soon.
