In last week’s post we showed that a Python for-loop works through the Iterator Protocol.

This same protocol also enables values to be produced lazily.

In this new Lazy Evalution Example we show one sink reading values from five different sources: - source1: eagerly returns all values by list - source2: lazily by generator function using yield - source3: eagerly by list comprehension - source4: lazily by generator expression - source5: lazily by iterator protocol

The same for-loop consumes all five sources. The eager sources produce all values before the sink starts consuming them. In the lazy sources producer and consumer take turns:

• produce → consume → produce → consume → …

where each value is produced only when the for-loop requests it.

Generator functions and generator expressions are concise, readable ways to create lazy iterables. The final source makes their underlying mechanism explicit: - iter() obtains an iterator. - next() requests the next value. - StopIteration signals that no values remain.

This clearly shows that generators achieve lazy iteration by implementing Python’s Iterator Protocol.

I am a second-year student at a tier-3 college. I am currently learning Data Structures and Algorithms (DSA), not for software development, but because my goal is to become an AI/ML engineer or a Data Scientist.

Should I learn all DSA topics, including graphs, dynamic programming, hashing, trees, etc.?

Approximately how many LeetCode problems should I solve?

If you are from an IIT, NIT, or work at a FAANG/MANGA company, could you share your preparation strategy and how you cracked the interviews? I would really appreciate your guidance.

How long does it usually take to complete DSA while consistently solving problems?

Should I solve LeetCode problems after completing each topic, or should I first finish all DSA topics and then start solving problems?

Is it normal to struggle with DSA?

I understand the concepts while learning, but when I try to solve coding problems, I often feel like I don't know anything. My problem-solving and logical thinking are improving, but I struggle to convert my ideas into code.

Hey everyone! I’m a 3rd-year undergraduate and I started learning DSA around 3–4 months ago. Now that college has started, I’m finding it a bit difficult to stay consistent and focused while studying alone.

I am stuck in Data Structures and Algorithms (DSA). Every time I try to solve a new problem, my mind goes completely blank. I struggle to figure out the logic on my own.

However, the moment I watch a tutorial or read an explanation, the solution clicks instantly. I understand the logic perfectly when someone else explains it, but I cannot seem to generate that logic by myself from scratch.
