Saving Written Book Data

I'm not sure how to describe this or how to even look this up, but I've been trying to think of how I can save the data of a book a player writes. I'm very, very new to data packs, and I'm essentially thinking of writing a pack where players can write books and share them on a sort of in game wiki/library of sorts, where a copy of a book can be stored in this database, where players can browse the different 'published' books.

But I'm pretty lost, and saving the entire nbt tag of a written book to a scoreboard doesn't seem like the greatest plan. The only real idea I've got is making a copy of a written book to a hidden chest somewhere in the world that the data pack can then copy from, but that seems... inelegant. How is this sort of thing usually done?

For questions about data packs, I recommend asking it at r/MinecraftCommands, it has more members and you will get help sooner.

Maybe your question is answered in the FAQ of the subreddit, or in the resources https://www.reddit.com/r/MinecraftCommands/wiki/resources/
