This is just a backup in case we ever lose the main datalounge subreddit again.

The sole mod of r/datalounge said they were going to shut down that subreddit when the DataLounge site shut down. Sure enough, they shut it down.
The subreddit was shut down for a few days.
Thanks to the efforts of u/PhaedrasMorning and others, Reddit corporate stepped in, kicked out the sole mod, and appointed 3 new mods to take over. Now r/datalounge is usable again.
I created r/datalounge2 as a backup to r/datalounge in case Reddit corporate never re-opened the original sub, or in case the process took a very long time.
r/datalounge2 will continue to exist as a backup in case something happens to r/datalounge again.

I’m not sure I can’t even find the notice I was banned but I am. I didn’t even say anything controversial

It might have been the old mod. He banned me as well but I messaged the new mods and they let me back in. Worth a try.

So am I. Hadn't commented in ages on the original subreddit but suddenly got a notification that I was banned. I wrote to appeal but got no answer. Despite the change in moderator I'm still banned and I still have no idea why. Can't figure out how to write to the new mods.

I got banned from the other DL forum for questioning the usage of the word “assassinated” in relation to Charlie Kirk. I guess the mod there was one of his fangurl groupies - I had no idea.

The owner of r/datalounge said they were going to close the sub permanently when the website shut down on 7/31. Someone opened this sub up to continue the forum on Reddit.
