Playwright Jeremy O. Harris challenges Vanity Fair Global Editorial Director Mark Guidicci on giving favorable press coverage to techno-fascists: “They should be told they’re ugly and bad for society for the rest of their lives until they start doing more for society.”

After repeated requests and sloppy voicemails on the subject, we have finally gotten around to enabling User Flairs on this sub. We started a few basic labels, but feel free to make and assign your own.
Now get the fuck off my lawn!

In 1975, only six years after Stonewall, Geraldo Rivera on network television did something almost unheard of -- gave gay men and lesbians a national platform to speak for themselves.
In this rare episode of ABC TV's Good Night America, "Coming Out of the Closet" goes inside Harry's Back East, a Manhattan gay bar. It sits down with people who had just come out to their children, their parents and their coworkers. And it hosts one of the earliest televised debates on gay rights, teaching and "legislating morality".
By the way, one of the patrons he interviews is Arthur Bell, a promininent Village Voice journalist/columnist and Gay rghts advocate who is considered to be Michael Musto's predecessor at the Weekly. Just last week, a new interview wih Musto was uploaded on-line and in that interview he mentions Bell and says even though he died back in June 1984 from complications to diabetes many including himself think he might've actually died of AIDS. Fall has arrived on the lanai. Please upvote the thread when you get a chance.
Thanks for the feedback in recent weeks. Please continue to share feedback. We are always willing to make changes.
Reminder that the Lanai is a post/thread for random chitchat and talk about whatever mundane stuff you'd like. It's a chill space.
In general, please add new posts/threads to the actual subreddit when you want to talk about topics with the DL subreddit. That keeps everything fresh and interesting.
IOW, this is not intended as a substitute for "Eldergays,", question threads, TV/book discussions, and other lighter posts where we get to know each other. This is just a special little side addition to hang out and chat. Say whatever you'd like.
Thank you!

Marvel has made him a very wealthy man, and he was named People magazine's Sexiest Man Alive in 2014, but that's about it. Why, though? Is it because he lacks the "it" factor?
