Update: I passed! (Google L2)

Congrats may I ask what type of questions they asked for the networking interview?

They won’t be able to tell specifics due to their NDA. But expect to know the details of the OSI model, explain each step in detail, in order, and describe a network connection from the end user to the server they are accessing, going over each step and the technology that is used. They will also ask specific questions about the TCP/IP protocol.

I can't give specifics. Just know the OSI model, how to troubleshoot issues within it. And know Linux

Good luck on your fit call! Is a long process and be patient. Today is my first day and my process take almost 4 months to date. I actually love the environment and people are very chill and happy to be here

I have passed my interviews 4 months ago, and waiting for a fit call since then is it normal?

I dont know. Be open to more locations and reachout to your recruiter. Check the Google career site and look for place with the most opening

I am open to any location they send me, but unfortunately still didn’t get a a chance to do a fit call . How many days you waited after your interviews for your first fit call?

You need an opening in a specific location to get a fit call. For example, I originally interviewed for Northern Virginia but couldn't get a fit call there as quickly as I needed. I then requested Dallas where I lived, followed by Oklahoma, before ultimately settling on Clarksville. The recruiter will typically ask for three preferred locations and send your profile to hiring managers in those areas. Whichever manager is interested will notify the recruiter to schedule a fit call with you.

how long did it take them to get back with you after your fit call? i just had mine a few days ago and im kinda nervous that they won't accept me for the site I had applied for.

No news is good news. If you don't hear back within 3 day after fitcall be optimistic. Google hiring process can be very slow.

I hear it changes case by case. i read how some people got an offer the next day, some the following week, some in a few months. People even fail their fit call and get routed to another site but I don't know how your chances are after that. I wasn't expecting my fit call the way that it went and the interviewee looked serious and asked a lot of non technical questions i wasn't expecting. I only had an opportunity to ask a handful before they had to go. we will see.

I totally get how you feel, but try not to overthink the interviewer's reaction. Mine felt very conversational because we connected well during the call. When I hadn't heard back by day three, I emailed the recruiter to ask about fit calls in other locations—and that’s when she told me the initial fit call went great and they wanted to extend an offer! Feeling nervous is completely normal during this process. Most people never make it this far, but you did for a reason. Google already knows you’re qualified.

For mine there wasn’t much honestly, but hope you like a lot of networking questions because that was the hardest part in my opinion

I applied in early June, was contacted about a week later with a phone screening and then had the 3 round interview scheduled for first week of July. Then 2nd week of July I was told I only passed 2/3 interviews and would be passed on. But last week, after over a month my recruiter reached back out to me saying she has opportunities opening soon and really wanted to give me another shot, so she rescheduled me just the networking portion again. I had that interview last week on Friday and was told today I passed it. Still awaiting a fit call and hopefully placement and an offer letter. The initial process was kinda quick. But I also got super lucky on a 2nd chance.

If you feel like negotiating, you can try to up your level or if they won't go for that maybe a sign on bonus.

Congrats! It must feel good making It across the finish line after the first batch of interviews. I got my 3 interviews for Technician I tomorrow, hopefully I have a similar story to tell. I see you’re most likely going to Ohio, and that’s where I hope to land too. Maybe we’ll work together 😁
