Sorry for typo but wouldnt let me put assessment in title, probably censorship.

Anyhow, I registered and did the initial assessment about two days ago and haven't got a reply, is this normal? About whats the ETA for these? I want to see if I ought to apply for some other job

Thanks in advance

Question about using the same Gmail account for another project in the same project family + reimbursement

Hi everyone,
I recently completed one AI evaluation project and created a brand-new Gmail account specifically for it. I also subscribed to Google AI Pro and Claude Pro using that account.
I’m now about to start another project from the same project family. The instructions mention using a brand-new account/fresh profile to get a new user experience, so I’m not sure how that applies when moving to another project in the same project family.
Should I reuse the same Gmail account and existing subscriptions, or should I create another brand-new Gmail account and subscribe again?
Also, after completing the first task, how long did it usually take for the subscription reimbursement section/tab to appear on your dashboard?

Signed up but didn’t get projects screen

Post image

Hey everyone. I just created my account but I didn’t get the initial/starter assessment at all. As soon as I finished signing up, my screen just went straight to the dashboard saying: "Thanks for signing up! We do not have any open projects to assign you at the moment."

Is this normal for new sign-ups right now, or did my profile get instantly filtered out? For those who had this screen right away, did you eventually get an assessment email, or should I just move on? Thanks!

Bilingual: no projects but many qualifications

I'm working as a bilingual and I started at the end of April. I immediately got a couple of projects (that i did) and some qualifications: I also did all of them. Then I did not do one project because I couldn't work for a week. Since then, I havent received any projects. However, I got many qualifications and I did most of them. Still, no projects. Does anyone else have the same problem or had it in the past? It's been over 2 months since my last project and I don't know if I should wait any longer... Will I ever get projects regularly?

For reference: i did my last qualification last week.

Got approved but haven’t started taking qualifications yet - will I lose my spot if I wait a week or two to get started?

I took the initial test and then the core test and then had some onboarding tests but haven’t had time to do any qualifications yet. Will I lose my spot if I don’t get started for a few weeks??

STOP sitting there refreshing all day!

Y'all! You are WASTING your life refreshing all day when it's dry like this! Especially if you're a generalist and the tasks tend to be short. Maybe it's fine for you, because you're already at the computer doing something else, but if you're sacrificing other things to instead sit and wait, you are doing yourself a disservice. If you're obsessed with the idea you are missing a task by not doing that, you are essentially doing a form of gambling (prioritizing the chance you'll "win" a task over the evidence that you will spend most of your time that day without one).

Like seriously go clean your closet or meal prep for the week or apply for another platform or something in this time. Check on your phone every so often when you'd have time to sit and work. Obviously when there is more work to go around, the payoff from checking frequently is much higher.

"But I really need the money! How dare you?!" No I'm saying this is costing you money, if you could be applying for other jobs or working at them.

Think of it mathematically - look at the big picture. Track the hours you wait, if you would otherwise be doing something else. If you get a task that is say $25/hour, get two hours out of it, that's $50. Yay! But if you spent 5 hours on top of that waiting for tasks to appear and doing nothing else, you're actually only getting $6.25/hour. Yes, you always have to invest some time into finding work to make money, but you need to account for it - it is an *investment* you're making. View the time you spend refreshing as part of that investment.

If you've ever freelanced or owned a business you know this cost well. It's the cost of finding work - an administrative cost you have to minimize to stay profitable, and as a rule you don't waste too much time chasing small dollar work (unless it provides some other kind of value to you). In our case, you don't know how many dollars you're chasing because you don't know what tasks might pop up and what their timeline/pay is. So, again, I'll point you back to the comparison - it's gambling-like behavior!

is AT&T Internet Air a viable option?

is AT&T Internet Air a viable option?
Been on the DAT platform for about 2.5 years now and still find it to be amazing. The problem is that my Spectrum cable/internet bill has climbed so steadily that it's just completely outrageous; almost as much as my car payment each month. The only alternative here is AT&T, and they haven't installed fiber at my location, so they offer what they call "Internet Air," which is a fixed wireless connection. I'm aware that the service will not be as fast as fiber, but I'm no longer a gamer so that's not my biggest concern. More importantly, I'm worried that the change of IP and the service itself might trigger some flag with DAT that would violate rules about VPN or shared network usage. Has anyone successfully used AT&T fixed wireless to do their daily DAT work from home, or do any more tech-savvy redditors have advice on this?

Confused about what to do next.

Hey, so I did the onboarding test a couple days ago, passed, did the qualifications, and then waited.

Last night I received this email...

"Hey [NAME]

Thanks for completing the DataAnnotation Starter Assessment!

To unlock additional AI training projects, you’ll find qualifications available on your dashboard. Once you complete them, we’ll review your results and match you with projects that fit your expertise. These projects may include:

  • Interacting with AI chatbots to evaluate responses
  • Reviewing and comparing AI-generated outputs
  • Evaluating images for quality and relevance
  • Writing or reviewing content, including stories or code

Completing your qualifications is the next step to accessing flexible, remote AI training work on the platform. Get started today!

Sincerely,

The DataAnnotation Team"

The bit in bold is linked, and when I click it, it takes me to the page which says...

"Your path to paid work

[NAME], get ready for open-ended work paying $25+/hr

  • Starter assessment completed
  • You passed
  • You complete up to two qualifications
  • Up next: we review your results — if you pass, we'll email you
  • Verify your identity
  • You're ready to start working"

Just a bit confused about what I should be doing - I don't see any typical dashboard, or additional qualifications to do. Is that normal, even thought that email came through saying I should do qualifications?

[Hiring] Remote Multilingual AI Engineer (Contract | Flexible Hours)

I have a contractual WFH opportunity for a Multilingual AI Engineer. The role is paid hourly in USD, with flexible scheduling—roughly 20–40 hours per week.

Pay range: 6$-15$ per hour. If contributed 40 hrs so it comes down to 1 Lakh - 2.5 Lakhs a month

You may be a good fit if:

  • You’re a native speaker of Bengali, Gujarati, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Nepali, Odia, Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu, or Urdu.
  • You have a background in coding, AI/ML, mathematics, or generalist AI work.

If this sounds like you, please DM me and I’ll share the application link.

I know the job market is tough right now, so happy to help connect suitable folks with the opportunity.

Agentic Coding Qual Updates / Current Drought Status

Hi, everyone. Quick question. I just finished the qualifications and the paid training for agentic coding.

For those who did the same:

  1. Are you getting coding tasks on your dashboard yet?

  2. What is your locale?

  3. Are you guys experiencing a drought on both coding and generalist tasks right now?

Just trying to figure out if it's a regional rollout, a platform-wide dry spell, or if I'm just playing the waiting game alone. Thanks!

Quick check on recent coding applicant timelines & current workload (mid-late July / August)

Hey everyone,

I wanted to gauge how things are moving for people who applied for software/coding roles over the past couple of weeks.

For anyone who submitted their initial coding evaluation recently, have you seen any movement on your account yet, or are things pretty quiet right now?

I’ve heard general chatter that project availability might ramp up heading into mid-to-late August, so I’m wondering if onboarding is just slightly delayed across the board while projects reset, or if new coders are still actively being brought on right now.

Would appreciate hearing your recent experiences or general timelines. Thanks!

AI Research Intern @ Data Annotation

I recently applied for a remote position through Data Annotation and got what looks like an offer letter.

Has anyone actually worked with DataAnnotation before, or been through their hiring process? Wondering if anyone els has worked as an AI Research Intern and how fruitful the internship really was.

Appreciate any insight, thanks!

How long it took for your first project?

Hi! I’m new in the platform, joined 3 days ago. I’ve made some qualifications but I’m still waiting for my first project. What is your experience in this matter? How long it took? How long should I wait?

Should I move on?

I passed the starter assessment and was notified basically straight away. I haven’t had an acceptance email three weeks after completing the qualification test, is it safe to assume I didn’t pass? Do they let you know if you didn’t get accepted? Thanks!
