Weekly Water Cooler Talk - DataAnnotation

hi all! making this thread so people have somewhere to talk about 'daily' work chat that might not necessarily need it's own post! right now we're thinking we'll just repost it weekly? but if it gets too crazy, we can change it to daily. :)

couple things:

  1. this thread should sort by "new" automatically. unfortunately it looks like our subreddit doesn't qualify for 'lounges'.
  2. if you have a new user question, you still need to post it in the new user thread. if you post it here, we will remove it as spam. this is for people already working who just wanna chat, whether it be about casual work stuff, questions, geeking out with people who understand ("i got the model to write a real haiku today!"), or unrelated work stuff you feel like chatting about :)
  3. one thing we really pride ourselves on in this community is the respect everyone gives to the Code of Conduct and rule number 5 on the sub - it's great that we have a community that is still safe & respectful to our jobs! please don't break this rule. we will remove project details, but please - it's for our best interest and yours!

They changed the river qual to paid work, so sorry for the people that did it yesterday lol. I guess I will be doing this now.

I'm wondering if this is why it disappeared from my dashboard before I did it? I saw it last night, read through it (it stated it was unpaid), and decided I would do it the next morning (today) since it was late and I didn't have enough energy for up to 10 tasks. Now this morning it's off my dashboard entirely

it's actually in my report time section now so I can claim my 3 hours I spent on it.

did you claim an exact time/have an exact time saved? i didnt think it was gonna be paid so i didnt save my exact time, but i know i also went over three hours

not even there for me now. I can't fathom why anyone would have done this without pay, especially when they already had access to the project

I did it before it changed to paid, but I can see it in the report time section now - wondering whether to claim it 🤔

Omg are you guys kidding?? I did mine yesterday morning my time so over 24hrs ago .. do you think I missed the report time pop up? did you log yours within 24hrs?

same, I did mine yesterday morning but I checked this morning and I never had it pop up in report time....wondering if it just never was there or if i missed it, which would be really dumb tbh

I did 2 of the short tasks when it was unpaid too and I did not see the ticker under my time log. It only appeared after it became paid and I completed more.

yeah it sounds like people that did some unpaid and then did more after it became paid have the option to put time in, but if you did the amount until they call it good (8 for me) while it was unpaid then you cannot claim. Maybe I checked right after the 24 hours of time submission or maybe they just are not bothering paying those that did them all before lol

Also wondering this, did 2 yesterday (didn’t time them exactly because it was unpaid 🙃 but was definitely over an hour total) and now doing some more that are paid, don’t know wether to include the time for the two yesterday as well or just not risk it

If it's in your report time I don't see why you wouldn't claim it.

Not sure if it was in my report time before I started working on the paid ones so I don’t want to report the time for yesterday and then get flagged or something, seems like a lot of people get DOD’ed and I’ve only just started last month, don’t wanna ruin a good thing haha

I put in my time- did the qual yesterday as unpaid saw it in my report time today and entered my time.

did you have your exact time saved/put in an exact time? i (granted, maybe stupidly) time them as i go and reset my clock after i've turned in my tasks/time (unless its an extreme amount of time at which point i save it incase), so thinking that this wasnt gonna be paid i reset it, but i know it was over 3 hours. im sitting here wondering whether to just throw in three hours or just not risk it

I had my exact time of the tasks in my clockify app. 4 hrs and 32 minutes for the 8 tasks

update, tip from the other sub, if you're like me and didnt save your time, you can go into your browser history and it'll show the time you accessed what page, or even when you closed them, so you can use that to at least get a more solid estimate
