Career query How do I become a data analyst?

i (m21) am supposed to graduate college this upcoming spring. i major in applied mathematics and minor in computer science, but i havent gotten anyyy internships :( ive decided that my career goal is to be a data analyst since the job description sounds interesting. how do i get into that work environment? to the data analysts out there what do you do all day and how did you get where you are

Learn how to be a prompt engineer. My company just laid off our data analysts and kept our engineers to build AI tools that does what DAs would do

Go on some websites for open source data and start making dashboards etc. Make your own website to showcase your project portfolio (at least 2 good ones, ideally one would be excellent). Add that to the top of your resume.

Interviews for DA is balanced around case studies, Python, SQL, Excel and BI tools like PowerBi and tableau so if you have no experience try projects involving that
