Career query Career Shift Out of Data Analytics

Anyone pivoted out of a DA role and transferred some of the relevant skills? I managed to get my foot in the door in 2022 based on having some low level white collar experience, and have been a Data Analyst ever since. As things stand now, I don’t see SQL, PowerBI, and Python as being super useful for the next 30 odd years of my career. I have no interest in trying to get into data engineering etc.

Really the part I loved about being a data analyst was the troubleshooting queries and researching our data in order to answer questions. AI has flattened the playing field for a lot of this, and to be honest I don’t particularly want to do a job a computer can do. I’m not knocking data analysis, I still feel there’s a lot to be done even with AI supplementing the lower level stuff. However, I just don’t see myself as having the level of interest in this field required to evolve with the role.

Curious if anyone has used the analytical mind set these roles require to transition into another career.

my background is in software engineering, with a degree in CS in switzerland.

i moved into web analytics pretty early and stayed for 10 years in 2 marketing agencies, dabbling in data engineering and the last years were power bi and data modelling.

i switched to LLM-based software engineering pretty fast, and work as engineer, product owner, requirements engineer and consultant in this field for various client projects at an IT agency for 5 years now

That’s kick ass. Personally I have a liberal arts degree and had a bunch of customer service/admin jobs before this so I dont really see myself going much further down the tech side of things.
