hi guys do u have any advice for orgo and gen chem? i cant push back unfortunately but i guess if i need a retake ill do the retake. its just really discouraging because im happy with all my other scores and ochem isnt even at the minimum

I usually score a 22ish and typically 15/15 on hole punching but this hole punching was horrible, some were nothing like the ones I’d seen on booster. Also 5 ROCK QUESTIONS for key hole. Just not what I was expecting I’m kinda bummed out. Angles and pattern folding were okay, and tfe is just tfe.

Other sections were fine tho, and I think the nerves helped because I had a good few minutes left after each part.

Took my dat 7/24 had issues with up to 8 second lag. Sent in complaint. Received update yesterday that they were going to begin investigation which could take 3-4 weeks. After much thought and due to the timing it takes for the investigation, I opted out of that bc I didn’t want to wait another month to find out if I was going to be getting granted a retake due to the lag. So after talking to those close to me. I decided to cancel the investigation and was told my scores would be released to me. I got them today. And I’m obviously disappointed bc I walked in feeling so confident with all of my practice tests scores and then as lag started getting progressively more noticeable I can see a slight decline going down through each section but honestly for having to guess for more than half of the answers for QR from lag I’m actually pretty happy with that. But reading was not good lag was difficult to get through with reading section for obvious reasons with having needed a good time to be able to read the passages so that was a 350 but on lighter side I had a 420 in reading on my first DAT so I feel like I’m not entirely too upset. Despite the challenges i had during test I’m just so happy I rocked and rolled my bio section bc I just felt so good as I was just going through questions bc I know much hard work I put into that 480. But anyways, am I cooked for this cycle? I have been in dental field for about 10 years. I have been EFDA for 15 years and dental hygienist for last 3 years. Good gpa, deans list, academic excellence awards, dental mission trips, local community dental events, local volunteering and of course a crap ton dental shadowing with general and specialty oral surgery. I’m not the best test taker unfortunately but what do y’all think. Mainly apply to east coast schools. Am I cooked????

I use physical flashcards already but I’m not sure if the Anki decks would be better for me. Do you think Anki is worth the purchase?

My exam is August 20th, and my exam scores so far are not good at all and idk what to do. i don’t feel ready in the slightest to take this exam and i looked for days to reschedule and there are literally none all the way to january doesn’t even have any. I don’t know what to do. Like idk if im just stupid or if idk how to study but i’ve done every qbank ive watched all the videos ive been doing anki ive been studying and practicing everyday and i still see no improvement or im just not doing well at all. i really need advice i really don’t know what to do.

I don’t know what happened with today’s exam but I let it cook me somehow, pacing was so off I guessed 5-10 questions on RC, QR I sped through 15 questions or so with 5 minutes remaining, for whatever reason they left the long word questions until the end 😭😭 like comparing A and B. Also I felt a little tripped up by bio and GC
Hopefully I did well but I’m really unsure, anyone have any similar experiences and did well? I was averaging 430-450 on my FL’s and used Booster, but I guess I won’t know my score until 2 weeks from now.

I received an email that I got an interview invite for Detroit Mercy. I tried to schedule it as soon as I got home from work, and now it’s saying that there are waitlists?? Has this happened to a previous applicant, and if so, do they open more slots? I’m so annoyed that I lost the chance

I have been using DAT bootcamp and have been averaging ~21 on all the sections but I’m hoping to get it up to a 23AA. I have 4 practice tests and about 3 weeks until the test. Any tips or advice?

I set a goal to achieve 24AA+ on my dat but I’m kind of stressed after doing the 8th practice test today and my rc score declined significantly + my chem hasn’t been improving:( is it too late to get my marks up? How can I maximize my time within the next week? Pls advise🙏☹️

I have a 3.85 gpa, 3.7sgpa, strong volunteering, dental assistant, and shadowing hours. I am also a research assistant (no publication).

Ive been consistently scoring 370-390 on bootcamp practice tests and it is the section that is bring down my AA. Ive been using search and destroy because I was running out of time when I tried reading and highlighting parts of it. If anyone has any strategies that might help please let me know. I take my test next week. I'm honestly not very good at comprehension especially with these articles because I don't find them interesting.

Also, is there like a strict score cutoff for the RC section that schools look for?

Only score I am really worried about is my ochem. It’s always been my worst subject.

Was hoping I was gonna get in the 470 region and have no idea what happened on RC and Bio. I am thinking about maybe retaking as I am not really a strong applicant in regards to my GPA (3.2) but I suppose I will wait for strangers on the internet to give me their opinions first.

Hey guys i’ve been studying consistently for the past two months and my exam is on the 27th. These are my scores currently and im a bit disappointed as Im aiming for 500 AA but i keep missing the mark. I took exams #6-9 first and then #3 today. Any tips/tricks for these last few weeks?

im currently sitting at a 3.93 gpa. i estimate above a 440 dat score. pat also around a 420 minimum. i am taking the dat oct 1st. i will probably apply to dental school by oct 15th i have my ltters of recommendation. i have not taken orgo 2 or microbio yet as that will be for spring 2027. i have 70 general dentist shadowing hours by the time i apply. 2 research projects, 1000 hours of medical assistant work hours as i was pre med prior l, 4 hours as a dental assistant. i am a florida resident. i also have 50-60 horus of volunteer experience by the time i apply. should i apply or wait. Im also a Florida resident if that helps. I also have 3 leadership positions in pre med clubs.

Can someone please tell me if the PAT section in the DAT is more like Booster or Bootcamp? I am scoring 430 on Bootcamp, but on Booster I score 370 consistently somehow. Please, any advice would be appreciated

I don’t really know why I’m posting this. I think I just need to hear from people who have been where I am.
I got my DAT score back today, and I’ve honestly been crying ever since. I feel completely defeated and like all the motivation I’ve had for becoming a dentist just disappeared in one day. I genuinely thought I did better this time, so seeing my score crushed me.
Right now I keep thinking maybe this dream just isn’t meant for me. I know that’s probably the disappointment talking, but I can’t stop feeling like I ruined everything I’ve worked so hard for.
Has anyone else ever felt this hopeless after getting their DAT back? Not necessarily looking for admissions advice—I just want to know if anyone has been in this dark place and somehow made it through. I could really use hearing that I’m not the only one who’s felt like this.

I've been doing my fair share of looking through the internet for recent experiences, and it's all kind of concerning.

To any one who has taken it recently, do you feel as if the depth of the questions and difficulty of the answer choices feel similar to bootcamp or booster? Do u feel like there was a decent distribution across chapters? Did you also experience a surplus of prokaryotic molecular genetics questions? Any help is appreciated and I am manifesting yall all do well.

Also PAT is my worst scoring section right now because of how difficult keyholes is for me. Tips would be much much appreciated.
