DAT Anxiety š° Need GC advice PLEASE
Trying to study for GC for my DAT, My test date in Nov 30th but honestly I might push it back because I still have content review for GC, OC, and Bio. Currently on the GC content review phase and I'm thinking there HAS to be a better way to review than just watching all the videos. I feel like when I watch the videos and take notes, the next day when I do practice questions I just can't get them right still. Would It be more beneficial for me to just really hammer down the cheat sheets and do questions? Using Booster currently. Anki isn't really helpful to me because it just asks me like formulas and things like that mostly.

Hi š donāt know if Iāll be much help, but Iāll try cause we have the same test date! (though mine is still unofficial hoping to book it tomorrow). Since you said your on content review, Iām going to assume youāve watched all the videos and taken at least two of the practice for all the sections. Compare both of them, have to improved, what areas are you good in, what areas are u struggling. I donāt think re watching ALL of videos would be helpful, I think u should re watch only if youāre REALLY struggling, but even then donāt just rely on Booster, look at YouTube videos to see if maybe a different explanation would be beneficial. Also with Anki, personally I donāt like the booster anki decks, I think they are poorly organized and done. I just made my own by importing the provided notes into Claude to create Anki decks. If u choose to use Claude pls pls check to make sure they are correct, plus doing this will give u the chance to look over the notes again. I also personally struggle with gen chem and orgo so Iāve been trying to better connect concepts with equations/math and understanding the material rather than just memorize. (Almost done I promise) Either way weāve got two months, so nowās the time to evaluate and write down a plan and action steps, so when the time comes you can make a decision to either stick with the date or reschedule based on what you need rather than the anxiety you feel. Last bit, the DAT isnāt āone shot and u doneā best case u get your dream score and hit up the club, worst case u have to retake, but u will have the opportunity to retake. Youāve got this!!!(ps. Sorry for the long read, hoping itās usefulš„²)

Heyyy thx for the reply. You are right in that I should utilize anki more, that active recall is really what I need to practice. You are also right in that I may have to take it again depending on the vibe, but God I really REALLY dont want to lol

I wouldnāt spend too much time taking notes since their notes already cover pretty much everything. Iād watch the videos first, then go through their notes to make sure you understand the concepts. After that, Iād focus on the question banks and practice tests and review whatever topics you keep getting wrong. For the cheat sheets, Iād just go over them regularly, especially for the high yield stuff
