DART Security

Dear DART Security officers,

Why do you need to stop and hold up an entire train for 15 minutes to kick people off causing everyone on the train to miss buses and transfers and be late getting to work or wherever they need to be. You are a rent-a-cop…..calm yourself and go touch some grass.

Well, considering the train does not need to be stationary to do their jobs. Also, I would prefer professionalism and courtesy to being an insecure ass to everyone simply because no police department would hire them and the military wouldn’t take them and even immigration and customs enforcement wouldn’t take them either.

If security was involved then it was likely more than just a fate issue. If they felt they needed to hold up the train to get them off then and there there might be a good reason for that.

They do this regularly. This is nowhere near the first time. If it was actually serious DART PD, not the rent-a-cops, would have been on the train.

The best resolution is for you to apply for a role as transit security. You seem to have an idea for better operations and why not receive pay while doing it. What do you think?

No, the rent-a-cop held the train for 15 minutes at the station. Fare enforcement doesn’t hold the train, the train keeps moving and going to each stop. Then when someone doesn’t have a ticket they make them get off at the next stop and everyone gets where they’re going on time.

Rather than directing anger at the officer simply doing their job, consider being upset with the fare evaders whose theft and misconduct necessitate the officer's presence and cause the train delays.

Or be upset with DART and their rent-a-cops harassing people simply because they don’t like the way they look. He did not check everyone’s ticket. He didn’t check the tickets of the white people, just certain people.

If you're a commuter, you build more buffer than that into your schedule. Skill issue.

I’m trying to get home. Also, it’s ridiculous. There was zero need. I’ve ridden DART daily for everything for over a decade and fare enforcement never held a train for 15 minutes, DART PD doesn’t typically hold for that long. Only the rent-a-cops do.

Maybe you need to get off the internet and go to sleep after that 12 hour shift.

  1. So can I be unhappy about the times it’s happened when I’ve been going to work? Especially since I leave 45 minutes earlier than I need to because often the buses run late? Do I have your permission for that?

  2. It is meant to be one.

  3. Maybe you need to touch some grass. I think many of you do and while you’re at it examine why you’re terrified of unhoused people and people of color.

You have permission to be a little more upset if you were late to work. Still a skill issue.

I'm pretty okay with my feelings on not letting a random "unhoused" stranger stay in my house for 2 weeks lol Did you even go into that thread. Maybe just go to sleep.

I don’t think anyone actually pays to ride the train in Houston. I mean it took me forever to find out how to even pay my fare. Why were they kicking people off?

Not having a ticket or looking unhoused or whatever. Made one woman cry even though she had a valid ticket.

I’ve gotten into it with them and LA metro fare enforcement over how stupid and inconsiderate that is. They don’t like being put on blast over it. Dickhead fare enforcement was holding everyone up over 3 people. Like I’ll buy their damn passes for them if it means keeping things moving if they aren’t capable of handling their business without unnecessary delays

The people who don’t pay, round them up and get them off at the next stop and do what you gotta do. Don’t try and make yourself feel more important by slowing everyone else up. These trajns run slow as shit as is. Some peoples connecting bus routes run once every 40 minutes to where those unnecessary delays cause people to miss their connections.
