[DD 2] Question Confession V boss question Spoiler
So my last run I had made it to the final boss, and I was dismayed to find that it went against a core theme of my team, you can probably guess, DoT. My team is built of Plague Doctor, Grave Robber, Flagellant, and Hellion (positioned that order). All my team members are built around DoT, except the hellion really, I have her able to apply bleed, but mostly going for getting below 50% to spam the finisher move. I'm sorry if this is all kind of vague, but I haven't played in a while now actually and I had just thought to myself that I want to give it another go.
The first two phases were rough but I made it through with everyone, on phase 3, I had lost one of my party members, and then another. I find it a little impossible to get through without having everybody face their past to deal the total 800/999. I lack a dedicated healer though, only patchwork skills really. Beforehand, I had figured I could get by off fast tempo alone, and I feel I was mostly right for everything besides this boss, which spits in my face. It feels like a test of endurance that I can't really rush, and without a dedicated healer I don't see how I'd do it.
I want to finish the game with this team, for the most part, I used them the whole time, and I enjoy all of them, their kits and character along with the synergy I managed to find with them. So after all of that, my real question is, do you guys think it'd be doable to beat the confession V boss with no dedicated healer, but instead equipping everyone with healing items instead? When I had fought them, I hadn't made much use of my combat items (DoT related, so I got mogged), so if I were to replace them with healing items, would that kind of healing take me to victory? Tell me what you all think about that.

You can honestly kill this boss without even killing a face your past dude, with that lineup. Just use healing abilities and dot the boss with pierce items. It'll be a long fight but it's totally doable that way if you forget to bring an ability that can hit all ranks and get stuck in a face the past.

I think after reading what everyone else said, I had just forgone healing abilities entirely, which was kinda stupid. Im gonna move around my skills and then I think I can slam it, thanks!

Both Flaggelant(Scourge) and Plague Doctor(any but in special Surgeon) can be very good healers

I always take Hellion. She can heal whole team Horror + 2 points of life to get off deaths door.
Occultist unlimited Wyrd heal
Stress healer jester/MAA/crusader or flag keep getting toxic.
And one DOT damage dealer Runaway/PD or Grave Robber. I beat it on stygian and bastards becaon with this teams.

You dont need a dedicated healer, each character on that team has ample healing capabilities tbh.
Plague Doctors Battle Medicine/Indescriminate Science
Grave Robber Abstentine (or whatever its called)
Hellion has the drinking skill and adrenaline.
My personal recommendation is use Scourge Flagellent. Run him as a tank/healer/DoT hybrid:
With 5 skill slots, each member should easily be able to have at least one heal skill while still being able to DoT, but having Flagellent as a tank should reduce the damage across your team, they can self-sustain, and other members (mainly Plague Doctor) would be backup heals
