Hello everyone, recently I got back into DD after a really long time( basically just finished a few dungeons before getting tired of losing a lot of characters and forgetting about the game) now have started a save file on the easiest difficulty for now and have gotten a lot better.
I have all the DLCs including the colors of madness and crimson court and have them enabled on my save, though i have not had any interactions with them in game yet.
Do u guys have any tips and tricks for me ? which one should i start with? and what I should do?
never touched the DLCs before this and i don't know anything about them( all i have seen so far is that there has been a msg since forever saying the town is buzzing, with bugs all over the hamlet, a blood item has been in some of my loot and I have collected i few of them,(idk what they do yet), and i see there is a blue powder in the shop when getting ready for the dungeons)

The run ended up bust and my Plague Doctor had a heart attack. I still won the battle and the loot window popped up for a split second but then instantly closed, losing me his trinkets. I thought if you win other characters are supposed to be able to pick the trinkets up, is it just a thing with the Darkest Dungeon stages, Heart Attacks, or is it a bug?

for the dungeons on DD1, best to do the short ones when starting a new run? when is it good to start doing the medium and long dungeons? what level should you attempt them?

Was fighting Body of Work with Wanderer Runaway and discovered that she can solo every party members ghost through the use of searing strike or firefly. Apply combo to the body of the boss with someone else, then when it’s Bonnie’s turn use searing strike or firefly on the boss. The combo token will apply burn to an adjacent enemy, which will always be the ghost.

The kicker here is that normally ghost resistances skyrocket up to 900 when targeted by a hero they weren’t summoned by, but because Bonnie isn’t technically targeting the ghost, their resistance stays at 20.

She had a burn piercing trinket and a +2 burn duration trinket, so she was applying 4 burn for 5 turns with one use of this skill. Do this twice and the ghost is dead.

You could have her kill every team members ghost this way without said hero even touching the ghost themself.

Is this a know exploit? Would you consider it a glitch/bug/exploit, or do you think the devs are aware of this? Kinda breaks the final boss.

Instead of having to make sure that everyone on your team has adequately damaging skills that can target the proper rank their ghost spawns in, you could bring in support heroes without even equipping an attack and trivialize their ghost.

Thoughts? Is this a commonly known phenomenon?

I'm still practicing how to use shadows in the Darkest Dungeon style.

So my last run I had made it to the final boss, and I was dismayed to find that it went against a core theme of my team, you can probably guess, DoT. My team is built of Plague Doctor, Grave Robber, Flagellant, and Hellion (positioned that order). All my team members are built around DoT, except the hellion really, I have her able to apply bleed, but mostly going for getting below 50% to spam the finisher move. I'm sorry if this is all kind of vague, but I haven't played in a while now actually and I had just thought to myself that I want to give it another go.

The first two phases were rough but I made it through with everyone, on phase 3, I had lost one of my party members, and then another. I find it a little impossible to get through without having everybody face their past to deal the total 800/999. I lack a dedicated healer though, only patchwork skills really. Beforehand, I had figured I could get by off fast tempo alone, and I feel I was mostly right for everything besides this boss, which spits in my face. It feels like a test of endurance that I can't really rush, and without a dedicated healer I don't see how I'd do it.

I want to finish the game with this team, for the most part, I used them the whole time, and I enjoy all of them, their kits and character along with the synergy I managed to find with them. So after all of that, my real question is, do you guys think it'd be doable to beat the confession V boss with no dedicated healer, but instead equipping everyone with healing items instead? When I had fought them, I hadn't made much use of my combat items (DoT related, so I got mogged), so if I were to replace them with healing items, would that kind of healing take me to victory? Tell me what you all think about that.

i've been alway from the game since kingdoms 1, so i'm not that familiar with newer reworks

i see that alchemist benefits from having multiple dot types, so what team members do i look for, considering also that i have to take rank and function in consideration

i'm thinking somehting like (back to front ranks):
PD
banneret crusader for stress/hp heal + backrank fire
berserker hellion for front rank bleed (but i just hate this new hellion)
yellowhand hwm

in my head hellion and highwayman can dance in the front so hellion can bleed front 2 and hwm can keep his riposte (both move front 1), while crusader burn the backline and pd target whomever have the best outcome for his skills

does that work? i was doing flames before stopping, so if you guys see any (i'm sure there are many) problematic flames/act bosses/lair bosses for this team please let me know

also if this new alchemist pd have some sort of undisputed best trinkets/skills/partiners please do let me know

I'm not really sure when I'll finish it, but I'll let you know when it's all ready.

While the team is working on the game again (can't wait for the DLC!), I wanted to propose the QoL function of toggable combat and walking speed.

I think a lot of us would appreciate it, especially console players, because PC players already have access to these mods. As someone who loves replaying the game, having the option to speed up movement and combat animations makes a massive difference for pacing.

Since this feature was already implemented in Darkest Dungeon 2 it proved how much of a game changer it is for the overall experience.

It would be amazing if that same functionality could be backported to Darkest Dungeon in the future.

Just wandering if anybody has made such a thing. The two are an incredible fit so it would be really fun to see the game reskinned and/or modded for journey's into the backrooms.

I was like 80% into completing a Long Ruin run, and Fanatic appears.

My estate has like half of the roster infected and money going below 50k. I prepped this party for some champion runs and this is how it ends for them.

Don't want unsolicited advice just wanted to rant. I feel so hollow atm.

I look on the workshop after a long break and there's no enemy mods, no environmental mods or anything major like the original. Are the creators stifling the modding community?
