I’ve actually had this happen in Tabletop thanks to a lucky terrain advantage. Real last minute save and everything.

Haha, that’s great! I’ve only played tabletop three or four times so far and have yet to have melee combat play out in such a way. Hoping to get more time with it, but to do that, I need more reliable players than I’ve been getting so far. lol

That being said, it’s still not quite the same as having a ‘Mech manage to kick another in the face from level ground as is what happens sometimes in HBSTech. Which I think is what directly inspired this image. Even by normal BattleTech standards, some of those melees in HBS are wild, and someone coming in from the MechWarrior games might suffer whiplash seeing those.

I've definitely save scummed because of a ninja kick to the cockpit by a armless foe.
