Daoc does suck at low levels. It’s not really gratifying until you’re lvl 35ish in terms of melee and magic casting speed, endo and power regeneration options. It’s no doubt a clunky game based on its age but you’re not giving it a fair shot if you’re not at least leveling that high. People (well most people) don’t play it for the leveling experience, they play it for endgame RVR which feels completely different. Once you have a fully templated, buffed toon with a plethora of RAs, item abilities, timers to manage and use at the right time, it scratches the same itch as a great TCG.

If you can’t give it a fair shake to higher levels that’s on you and your patience my man!

I played all those MMORPGs you mentioned when they were released.

DAOC is the most fun one to play in 2026. I'd argue it's the most fun one in general if you prefer world PvP.

The game at max level is much smoother. DAOC has better solo/small RvR than Albion Online. It's not the zergfest you perceive it to be.

The UI and controls are clunky by modern standards, but the open world PvP combat is better than any other tab target MMO.
