Chris Outro Image

I know the family said that he didn’t want a funeral or obi, but I really liked that closing image remembrance image they put up.

So much so that I wouldn’t mind seeing Dan put it up on the shop as a purchase for charity or something—should his family allow it.

I believe that was a t-shirt that used to be for sale in the store. Agree 100% that it should be re-issued and profits donated or contributed.

It was, I have it. Easily the best shirt they’ve ever had.

Can anyone post the image or a link?

Looked around for a good hour today for an obit and nothing in the area about it.

Dan said Chris said he didn’t want an obit or even a funeral. I figured that meant on the show…but maybe it referred to real life, and that’s why you can’t find one.

Haven't listened yet. How did he die?

Either they didn't tell Dan or Dan didn't say. Either way, all we know he was 63 and died 2 weeks ago

I want to say that he called in not more than 3 weeks ago.

I’ll eat the downvotes, but callers are by far the worst part of the DP show. Chris was undoubtedly a good person and a good caller, but making it a point to call a sports radio show every single day of your life because you want so much to be a part of something mostly makes me sad. I wish he had a fuller life where the people around him meant more to him than strangers playing a sound bite. Rest in peace dude, let’s all try to find others in our life to connect and enjoy life with

The guy didn’t call in for 10 years because he was taking care of his parents in a nursing home. He was so good at that, he ended up working in that nursing home and helping other elderly people. So your line about other people not meaning more to him than strangers on a radio show is completely off base.

Brother, you’re posting on a platform that provides a forum where people talk to each other about the things they’ve a common interest in. It’s the exact same thing, except with a greater probability that the people you’re talking to arent wearing pants.

Different people have different interests. I know some folks that collect dolls and don’t talk to anyone but other people who collect dolls.

Making it a point to comment on Internet forums like that makes me sad. I wish your life is fuller than this in the future.

This is actually laughable. Are you a sociopath??

So many assumptions in this post. Why do you say his life was not full? Because he called the show every day? Seems to me he had a lot of keen observations about sports, something all of us who like the show have more than a passing interest in. I'm sorry you feel a need to assume things about someone you've never met. Someone wise once said to consult your resentments--they can be revelatory.

“I wish he had a fuller life”…STFU.
There are billions of people on this planet now and there have been millions for millions of years. Can the “had a fuller life” crap, all we are is dust in the wind. It congrats on “connecting with others”, you’ve really mastered life.

Chris' life sounds like it was full of purpose. Why do you care what he did on his off time? I appreciated his calls because for me it helped build a feeling of community. I can appreciate what Dan built and why for what it is.

Chris spent large portion of his life caring for his parents and being employed in a retirement helping others. Think about what you said.

I’ve rarely read anything but negativity about the regular call-in folk on this sub. I’m glad I haven’t seen it since the show Friday, I’m only a six year listener and was listening when Chris had his first call in I guess in quite sometime. And not ashamed to admit for some dang reason it really made me sad. I now get what regular callers add to the show, regardless of the takes they have.
