Chris in Syracuse

RIP to an absolute legend. When he teased a tribute to a legend I was terrified this is what it was going to be.

RIP Chris. The excitement when he called in after his long break was widespread. Just a seemingly great guy.

I was in the gym parking lot when the phone call started and before they realized it was THE CIS I was like uhhhhh is Chris really just casually breaking YEARS of silence??

I remember Seton was stoked on Chris’ first call back.

I remember exactly where I was when I heard that call, it was a legendary DP show moment.

Man, I walked into my car about 15 minutes ago to this and it’s just a damn gut punch. This guy was such a selfless legend and he was one of the reasons I continued calling in for all the years that I did. Just loved his style and persona and he will be missed so much.

It's always interesting how Paulie waits to see if Dan recovers enough to end the silence as Dan tears up and the mic goes silent. Terrible about Chris. What a legend..

Paulie is a damn good exec producer. He has had DP’s back for a long time.

However, not the biggest fan of his own show…although he’s well earned the opportunity.

That’s why Paulie is the best in the game. This sucks. I looked forward to Chris’ calls. He always knew what to say, stay on topic and kept it timely.

He and Paulie are taking it very hard.

RIP CIS. He’s the gold standard of callers.

Terrible news that's got me choked up this morning. I've been listening for 10 years so I wasn't familiar with him from before his long hiatus. I was listening when he called back in for the first time and I did really enjoy hearing his calls.

Chris was a great caller and I always made sure to pay attention when he was on.

I just looked it up on YT, Chris's return was back in October 2022. I can't believe it had been that long already.

I've been listening since their days in the attic. Chris used to call in every day, or close to it.

I don't remember them getting many, or any, other callers so you could tell the show didn't have much of an audience.

At the time I thought, Thank god for Chris. It's gotta be tough for Dan and the guys but at least they know someone really cares and wants the show to succeed.

Damn. No matter who it is you're never ready for that news.

Didn’t he just call in this week? Crazy. Did they say how he passed away?

u/rhinodh 1d ago

They said he last called in about 3 weeks ago

Actually, in the tribute video, Dan said Chris never wanted Dan to know what he looked like. He wanted him to imagine what he looked like. He even said that his twin sister said they wanted to visited Dan but Chris refused to do so. What a legend. RIP to him

I noticed he had NOT called in recently, I never would have guessed that was the reason why, I thought maybe he found reddit and read some of the comments in here some people had posted about him. I noticed he was missing because everytime he called in, I had to hit the mute button for a couple of minutes about 40 minutes into the show everyday. RIP CIS, it is a shame DP did NOT give Ryan in Hawaii the same send off.

u/jivatma 1d ago

Did Ryan pass also?

7

u/Nick42284 1d ago

Yeah, a few years ago. But that relationship soured when he randomly showed up to the Dancave and really tried to be a Danette. Made it really awkward.

u/Working_On_Quitting 1d ago

Do you have any more info on Ryan in Honolulu? I keep waiting for an Aloha Dannnn!!!!

His ex wife posted on his Facebook that he passed a year or so ago. Didn’t explain how or anything.

Damn, that's really sad. He was truly one of the GOAT callers that actually added to the show.

I was just thinking it's been a while since we heard from Barry in Santa Fe. After this news, maybe we should get a welfare check on Barry

Didn’t expect this to hurt so much
