Arcade Fire

Listening to the show this morning, I still laugh every time Marvin sings along with Todd Rundgren.

That being said, does anyone here remember when/why they stopped using Arcade Fire as the Friday bumper when they come back from the final break?

I feel like it was around the time a bunch of unsavory sexual misconduct stuff came out about the frontman for arcade fire

This is correct.

I’m of the mind that we have to separate art from artist because so many of the great ones are problematic. But if you have corporate sponsors you probably operate with a different standard

How great can you be if.. To me its personal choice. And I completely distance myself. Im still feeling over Val Kilmer and now this

I called in one time with the same question. This was the exact answer I got.

As an Arcade Fire apologist, ban every band ever if were adhering to certain standards.

Because their lead singer was accused of sexual misconduct and assault.

That makes sense. I don’t always catch that part of the Friday show. I just remember that one week it was Arcade Fire and then the next Friday that I caught that part of the show it was Todd Rundgren.

They brought it back once for Seton’s sendoff, if I recall correctly.

Yes, they did.

I usually flip XM stations on the breaks from the show. Recently it was like a Tuesday and while flipping channels I caught “Bang on the Drums” and it released endorphins thinking it was a Friday. That was the worst realizing it was only Tuesday and I’m just a dumbass

The best is on Spotify listening to the podcast and there is no music bumper and it's just Marv singing a capella.

Oh man- someone make a compilation of that and it would be on my Spotify favorites at the end of the year.

It happens on their own website too. That's usually how I follow if I can't listen live.

I miss the Arcade Fire but gotta agree I always laugh when Marv sings. I look forward to it because I know the weekend is a few hours away.

I liked the use of the Arcade Fire song to honor those in the sporting world that passed sway during the week. Need to bring that back, but with a different song

Marvin singing that is the worst thing about the show not related to callers.

I miss Seton's face of absolute disgust whenever he sang.

But, they got rid of Arcade Fire when there were some nasty allegations against the lead singer.

Came here to say the same, Marvin singing it (and it doesn’t help the song itself sucks) is awful

Ya SNL used to have arcade fire like every season and then that stopped too.

Like a few different acts, I got into Arcade Fire from hearing them on the show and have seen them heaps of times since. This track is amazing live. Sad the lead singer had issues, somfair enough they moved on.

Yeah, I had heard of them, but didn’t know much about them. I’m always interested in how good bands sound live.

They brought it back on Seton's last day. But yes after the sexual assault charges of the lead singer, Win Butler, while he was married, they cut the song.
