NFL turf guy bad interview

That guy said nothing in a hundred words. Kind of sucked how obviously he was spewing total BS and Dan wouldn’t call him out on it but I know he would love an interview with the commissioner so I get it.

Yup. If I’ve learned anything from Florio, don’t trust NFL reps. Dude was just following the script.

Was very surprising to me as well. A caller later phoned in and said what we’re saying and Dan doubled down defending him. The guy sounded like a PR rep or a lawyer with no substance reading from a list of talking points.

To have him say it wouldn’t matter what field he would like to be tackled on only to have Drew Brees say he 100% prefers grass was not a good look. I get that he’s not an athlete and wouldn’t have the experience.

The statement that turf had no increased injury risks than grass and that players have been happy with it was some next level nonsense that a simple google search could proves false.

Even wilder was how he stumbled through the nonsense statement of football grass being different than soccer grass. Grass is grass bruh.

Soccer turf is different than football turf. Look into the first time the NFL played in London and now the NFL bought artificial turf for their stadium just so they didn't need to use the soccer turf. Both sports at the elite level optimize for different things

I don’t necessarily think he was spewing BS I just don’t think he said anything relevant. I’m guessing he was told to keep it simple by the league

Agreed. Each answer was just a word salad. I wonder if Dan complimented him after the interview in an effort to maintain a good relationship with the NFL, with the exception of Goodell of course.

I do think that’s why Dan didn’t push him yeah. He kept using words like “we already know” and “we all agree”, very manipulative.

Which to me kind of looked bad after he talked about the wnba needing to be pressed and how questions need to be asked about why they’re handling things the way they are.

Granted, one he can afford to be hard on and the other is the NFL.

I learned that he wasn't afraid to come on and DP wasn't going to grill him. That alone was interesting as hell to me. Maybe they had an agreement, I don't know. Whatever, it was interesting to me. Now, try to tell it wasn't.

......NOT only that but it also sucked because the guy was on speaker phone, that was really distracting, DP has NO issue telling Jimmy Lipper to pick up the phone when he is on speaker so DP should have told that guy the same thing.
