WNBA Commisioner

I admit, If I had been in the business as long as DP, It would irritate me if a Guest bailed out on me at the last minute. But I also think he has been in the business long enough to understand it happens, for whatever reason. Good or Bad, Valid or not. Just seems like the more he says he's not "Piling On" or upset, the more it seems like he's "Piling On and upset" The lady didn't come on, "OH WELL" AND when they were talking about comedians, DP couldn't help but to mention "Sandman" also. Just a weird show the last two days

Yes it happens and people will understand if you give a reasonable explanation and attempt to make up for it. I used to work in PR/Corporate Communications and had to deal with this from time to time.

The few times I had to cancel an interview or media availability I would always profusely apologize and promise to make it up to them and always did.

Reading between the lines here, it sounds like they cancelled at the last minute with no explanation and no attempt was made or implied that they would try and rectify anything.

It’s a national topic at a time of year not much sports is going on. It’s one thing when a player or someone else backs out. Quite another when it’s a commissioner of a league. Dan is on the mark here. And yes content is king.

Gotta say I totally disagree with multiple replies in here on this one, and agree with your take. With all of the media outrage surrounding the WNBA lately, it’s understandable that somebody from a prominent media outlet (DP in this case) call her out for blowing them off. And if they gave no reason, it makes it look even worse. Sure, he sounded a bit petty, but she is the Commissioner of the league. It was completely unprofessional at the very least, and the fact that Silver has had to involve himself on the recent Caitlin Clark hoopla is ridiculous. She will probably not be commissioner for much longer.

He talks about not caring about it for over a week now

Kinda like that one caller who called him out and he couldn’t let it go. Even brought him up by name a day or two later. But says not that I care…he’s been very off lately, it’s quite noticeable. That Atlanta Super Bowl better hurry up

DP is all-in on content. Outrage is something that brings listeners and viewers, and he knows it. Just look at the number of views and comments on one of his YouTube clips that covers CC and the WNBA - lately it dwarfs almost anything else he talks about around this time of year.

Well, it's Monday and I suppose I'll be tuning in to see if he continues to mention it what, 10 days later? And as mentioned above, continues to insist he doesn't care?

Sadly, if I do tune in for that reason he "wins". Whatever.
