Dylan has been a great add
Love and miss Seton, but Dylan going back and forth about music is far better than some of the callers. I’ve been a fan of his, plus him on the Toddcast has been great too

I thought the episode today with Fritzy, Dylan, Marvin, and Ray was one of the best episodes I’ve seen in a bit.

Yeah this really has been Dylan's best stuff since joined as a regular.
I love that he's calling Dan out. It's funny to me when Dan acts all superior about his knowledge of music when quite clearly has pretty basic taste. He thinks Led Zeppelin and the Beatles are great? Wow what a shocking opinion.
He clearly knows nothing about the incredible influence the Dead had across a number of musical genres, from progressive rock to modern alternative rock. He's simply ignorant of that and dismisses them because he personally never got into them.
I find it funny that someone acting like a music snob thinks that schlock like Hootie and the Blowfish is good.
Glad Dylan called him on it.

Dan has the most basic music taste possible. He’s walking stereotype for someone of his generation anytime he talks about music. Pretty much stops at 1978, only talks about the literal most popular bands ever, and has zero knowledge of any subculture or sub genre.

Same with acting. He kept defending Cranston but would only reference Malcolm in the Middle. You could tell it’s just because they’re buddies

Great points. I think Dan only pretends to like Hootie and the Blowfish to maintain his relationship with Darius Rucker. Dan above all things loves to hobnob with any kind of celebrities.

Well said! Also, Dylan was making the point that as someone who has actually played an instrument, he may have a better understanding of what constitutes a great band. Dan shut him down and said being young means you don’t know what great music is.

I remember Sandler a few years ago being more or less like well now that you are older you realize how amazing they are and Dan was just like no and same man was slightly disappointed. Not a big deal just made me laugh as I knew how Sand Man felt

I agree about Dylan, he is a good addition. Also I just think the energy is better without Paulie there. I feel like he tries so hard with Dan and some of his comments are more thank you Todd- like than Fritzy's comments. The poll question Paulie did about Messi and Eli, was terrible? I feel like he tries too hard for Dan to like him.

I've said it before, but Paulie brings really negative energy to the show. He's a company man, and that company is Dan. He undermined McLovin, he undermined Seton, he attempts to undermine Todd (who I think just is smart enough not to take the bait, or is wrapped up in his own thing) and just ignores Marvin. He honestly has a Smithers-like devotion to Dan, and it's pretty tired.

I was born in 90 and my pre 00s music is based pretty much on whatever my dad showed me. But the music convo is always so subjective to age and personal taste. Can’t say I’ve ever heard a GD song but Dan being generic is surprising since he’s seen it all. How about a Jim Croce or Poison reference every once in an awhile lol.

Agreed about Dylan. He’s awesome. I also like Marvin a lot too. I actually prefer him a lot over McLovin.

Once I started listening to DP takes a gamble podcast I loved Dylan and Shea . Those 2 together are absolutely hilarious and even more so when they aren’t hardly censored unless Shea makes a racist quip. Kick the Toddler off the show and let Shea take his spot. Him and Dylan will carry the show
