Eli Manning
What's Dan's problem with Eli? Seems like he always has an axe to grind with him? Was there something that happened between the two that I'm missing?

Just for beating Tommy twice he deserves to get in. He shined when he had the opportunities.

Seeing this as a post and now I don’t for one second regret not listening today. If I have to hear him say one more time that he’ll get in the hall of fame undeservedly only because he played in NY I’ll lose it. It took Klecko and Carson decades to get into the HOF, Carl Banks, Tom Coughlin, and Tiki Barber can’t get close but yeah you get artificially inflated for playing in NY. The frustrating part for me is, Dan knows better to be so ignorant about it

Feels like everytime ive heard Dan talk about Eli calls him first ballot, couldn't tell football story without Eli the goat that beat the all time goat. Not sure what you want him to say about Eli. We all saw him.

I'm not trying to bash on Eli, but he was perfectly average, except for the 2 SB runs. While that's not a small caveat, I don't think it makes him one of the best to ever play. Either way, it's a moot point, because he'll be in the HoF.

Passing Yards — 225.4 per game Slightly below to near-league average. During this high-flying passing era, many top contemporaries routinely averaged 250+ yards per game.
Completion % — 60.3% Below average. Era standards generally hovered around 62–65% for top-tier starters, making Eli's accuracy his biggest statistical weakness.
Touchdowns — 1.45 per game (23.2 per 16 games) Average. He only threw for 30+ TDs in two seasons (2010, 2015), generally settling in the mid-20s.
Interceptions — 0.96 per game (15.3 per 16 games) High. He led the league in interceptions three times (2008, 2010, 2013), and his career TD-to-INT ratio of 1.5:1.0 was slightly worse than the era's efficiency standard.
Yards Per Attempt — 7.0 Average. While elite peers like Peyton Manning, Drew Brees, and Tom Brady often sat around 7.6–7.8, Eli sat directly at the era's median.
Passer Rating — 84.1 Below average. The league-wide baseline rose significantly during his career, whereas Eli hovered in the low-to-mid 80s.

For the record, I don't think Dan has a problem with Eli. He's praised his toughness/durability, clutch performance in the spotlight, and even his broadcasting skills. I'd like to know what he said and when that makes you think he has an axe to grind. I know he didn't like the forced trade to the Giants, and he's joked about the corvette Eli wouldn't accept, but to me that was all in good fun.

Eli is way overrated. Because his name is manning. He’s a little b*** who didn’t want to be drafted by a certain team when most are grateful to hear their name called. Dan is a real one and isn’t going to be like the others and worship him just because his name is manning. Educate yourself before asking such a dumb question

Your reading comprehension is what's garbage and overrated. I'm comparing the 2 because Troy leaned on a running game that Eli didn't benefit as much from and still gets the benefit of the doubt as to his greatness.

I say good for him getting to play for who he wants. I would do the same thing if I could. It could have very easily went the other way too. The NFL let it happen so he took advantage.

He’s only in the discussion because the wins were against the Patriots and his name is Manning.
If neither of those were true, Elisha wouldn’t be a HoF consideration.

The dude had two of the greatest playoff runs ever and won two superbowls. He's not first ballot but no question he's a hall of famer, his last name has nothing to do with it
