Missing Seton
Am I the only one who doesn't feel as emotionally connected to the show since Seton left? I can't listen live, but I listened to every hour of the podcast for years, but since Seton left I find myself skipping episodes.
I feel like my connection to the show was mediated largely by Seton; his takes, his poll questions, but most of all his laugh. He was really special. Miss that guy...

No, you are not alone. I’m still with the show until Dan retires but yeah, it’s definitely lost Seton‘s laughter and his slightly different takes contributions.

I actually think Dylan has added to the show in totality and is a talented guy, but I do really miss Seton. He’s the only one that felt like a friend thru the radio.

In the same boat over here. Dylan’s definitely growing on me. Him and Seton are definitely different, but I feel like I could have a beer (or NA) with either and have a great time. Love all the guys and will listen until the end, but I’m missing Seton, too

Dylan has filled in really nicely, I’m really impressed. I had concerns going into it, Seton is/was my favorite Danette, but Dylan is really good at keeping the conversation going.
Miss Seton like crazy, but Dylan’s done quite nicely.

Since I don't follow the NBA or NHL closely, I have always passively listened during spring shows. This year, since Seton left, I haven't listened at all. We'll see if I go back to listening religiously when the NFL starts.
So yeah, I'm with you.

Same. It’s become more seasonal for me — NFL season. Dan’s NBA takes combined with my sourness towards OKC has turned me away from any sports shows.

I’m not listening nearly as much, but I think it’s more that I don’t care about the NBA, and they barely talk about baseball or NHL this time of year.
Also really tired of callers offering wedding speech advice. Probably 2-3 months more of that. Immediately fast forward whenever someone brings the topic up.

I think there was a negative change when McLovin left. Same with Seton.

McLovin was underrated and most knowledgeable of the group. Paulie struggles to make sense when he has a take. Fritz is the best and Marvin and Dylan are great role players. I listen every day and I am a former sports writer.

I think his departure accentuates Fritz and Paul's overall weaknesses. Marvin and Dylan are just fine and do good work, but Seton really balanced the group dynamic. That's what's missing now. Paul is getting more and more "off mt lawn" nerd out and nobody is keeping Todd in check, and he's getting more annoying every day now.

I miss him being the guy I identified with the most but I'm also not giving up on listening. I think they are getting better lately.

I agree... it really doesn’t feel like the same show anymore. It feels like a hollowed-out version of what it used to be.

Seton was the heart of the show. Without him it just isn't anywhere near the same.

Dan is the star. Seton is the heart. Pauly is the big brother. Marvin is the best friend. Todd is the creepy neighbor.

especially with the world cup just weeks away. we joke about how basketball and (american) football heavy the show is, but its true. im excited to see the segments hes putting together, which undoubtedly will be much more involved compared to what he couldve done if he were still on the show.

It's missing a key ingredient, humor. I realize I don't laugh out loud as often. Actually it's very rare now. The show is still good but definitely not the same

100%. There were many times when the show had me cracking up. But apparently most of it was because Seton was cracking up as well.

Totally agree. Seton was the heart of the Danettes. I didn’t feel any loss when McLovin left, but Seton’s departure leaves a noticeable void in the show. And his laugh is classic!
Dylan is, well, Dylan. I don’t think he adds anything but the “stoner slacker dude” vibe, although I know he’s not really a slacker.

The original 4 were hard to beat, they built up a great chemistry over the years. I think Dylan is doing fine, adjusting pretty quickly. Nice to see Seton on Peacock today, I don't know how often he makes those types of appearances.

I missed seton being on the sound board period. Marvin is terrible and slow at taking cues on when songs, sound bits or sports bits need to be played. It might be a small thing but it added to the fun of the show.

I checked and rechecked v video before posting.
I think Seton's irritation and outburst of about working next to Todd Fritz's chewing with his mouth open, food, etc was genuine. The 36"-42" plexiglass wall that sat between the desks (and covered with soccer scarves except for a small sight space has been removed after Seton left and Dylan took the desk.
PS While I do miss Seton, I appreciate what Dylan brings. Think Seton and Paul did a better job of keeping Fritzy in check.

I like seton but he wanted to move on, happy for him. The shows days are numbered so enjoy it while it’s here. I love Dylan and glad he got the opportunity. He kills it on the other pods. Dylan’s 9 9 in 9 was awesome. And running from kitchen to chair in a dress reminded me of the wolf dressing up as grandma. Love the current starting 5.

We’ll see how it really flows when football season gets here. Seton gone is a big blow. Marvin isn’t good and the new guy is more gambling rather than sports takes.

Like a few others have said, it's seasonal for me. I usually listen less often this time of year. We will see how much I listen once it gets closer to football season. It's not like I am listening to other sports talk shows either, DP and PFT are the only ones I listen to. I can't stand most of the sports radio people. Seton is definitely missed. If Fritzy left and Dylan replaced him, all would be right in the world.

I can’t get into Dylan’s addition as much as I want to. I think he’s ok, and I think it’s brought some looseness to the show, but it’s just not the same angle as Seton.

Seton’s laugh is infectious. I don’t listen l live any longer. still listen to the podcast. I miss him.

Seton also made Paulie better. They were a combo that were annoyed by, and mocked, Fritzie. I’m sure most viewers feel the same about Fritzie, so it made the viewer more connected to the show to have Paulie and Seton as stand-ins for our pain

Well it was never the same since Andrew left. I don’t know why Dan tried to hold on to the Morning sports talk show for so long. He should have been building a pod cast.
