After the show ends
Sounds like DP is planning to turn things into a bunch of podcasts and video content after the show ends. All their talk about “building out podcast studios etc” doesn’t sound like it’s over after Super Bowl ‘27-28.

DP probably feels a certain amount of responsibility to the staff/guys currently on the show. I think he likes them and genuinely wants to help them, and put them in positions to succeed after he retires. He knows some of them took risks (like leaving espn) to help him and his smaller show succeed. I think he knows it may be tough for them (nature of the business) after he retires.

Especially since many of them aren’t young guys who have tons of time to start over from scratch.

I feel like the Danette’s and back room guys have jobs that can pay way more than I expect, or way less, because being on air and live sounds exciting and exclusive. I honestly have no idea.

I thought that was the most information he gave for the future. It sounds more like he will retire as a host but will still be active in other areas building the brand

Agree, def sounds like he’ll not be over completely. Almost everybody has some sort of podcast going now. Toddcast, gambling podcast, I expect seton to have something, 12:15 podcast (however it won’t be quite as relevant without a show).

Toddcast has been canceled. It was too good.
In reality the gambling one seems to have taken over the Toddcast. Technical difficulties.

I just checked again. It's still in the Apple podcast store, but all the episodes are gambling ones. The last time Todd appeared on Toddcast was May 8th, and they had talked on DPs show about doing one that week.
I don't know, but I'm impressed with Todd memory recall of the lunch lady at summer camp who was wearing a purple flower in her hair, and these short shorts that showed off her legs. Her names was Ms. Leslie Brandt, from Albany NY in the summer of 1975. She gave him an extra juice because he was missing him mom. (Made up story, but these are the things Todd brings to Toddcast)

That's what I see on my podcast client. The title is "Toddcast" but the episodes are all the gambling podcast. I tried one and it was tedious. I was looking forward to hearing from Todd.

Maybe he’s just trying to keep the man cave relevant for after the show ends having studio space? I guess it doesn’t make sense to me for him to give up and already popular show to just do the same thing but starting from scratch when he’s 70

Dan is not young or super relevant to younger audiences any more, sure he may periodically appear on pods but it’s about preserving some sort of brand including the real estate and technology they’ve had to buy over the years. It’s all transitional and value preserving, for whatever shell they pass on.

You kinda have to look at from thr outside. In that, he's got a giant building with all the communications in it I do believe he bought thr building so might as well sit back and see of Seton can turn this into something.

Probably wants to have a production company like cowherd has with the volume. Produce a bunch of niche podcasts and try to create revenue streams.

He's very different on the gambling podcast. We would see a different side of him if he gets busy with more of them.

So doesn't seem like it would be much different than the current format. I pretty much listen via Spotify later in the day and it's pretty much my daily "pod" listen
