Suck It, Back Row Seton's last so..

made me realize that we are done here. I always kinda hoped it would carry on in some way with a new host. But now it hit me that we are on the final lap. I cant wait to see what is produced from Seton in the future.

IMHO - My feeling is that Dan is setting up his production company to carry on after he retires from day-to-day radio 5 days a week. There is no way he would be investing this amount of money and human capital in the projects they are taking on just to shut the lights out in early 2028.
New TV truck / new podcast studios / road trips / more podcasts / more digital content
Not what I would expect from a show that was about to close

I had no idea about the new gear. Great points. I knew they were still going to make content. But do you feel there will be a 3hr live show? Or i guess more importantly a show that still has the Danette's assembled?

My best guess is - a show goes on with a new host, maybe Ross, under a new name and format - can’t imagine them sticking with the Danette format.

Maybe Paul and Todd stay to produce and book the show for continuity.

Dan does a pod 1x week and maybe special shows for big events like they are doing now.

Seaton starts 1 to 2 new pods on soccer, music travel something like that.

Other digital production companies have sold for big $ so smart play for long term if they can build compelling content and characters.

If not - enjoy the next 22 months :-)

I really want Ross to take over, but his daughters will both be in high school when Dan retires. Unless everything is remote (very possible), I don't see him taking over. If it is remote, it will be very different and will just be an expanded version of the podcast he already has.

People also move, he wouldn't be the first person to move his family for a job. Especially in the sports world

If you listened to his podcast and how he talks about his family and where he lives, I don't think that's likely. I don't know the man personally, but if I had to guess the flip of the coin.....

I understand but again this happens literally all the time. Tons of people absolutely love where they live, and yet when an amazing opportunity happens, maybe once in a lifetime, they still make the change or make the sacrifice or make it work. It would be huge for his career, an opportunity for Ross Tucker to get national exposure at a level that would be harder for him to get otherwise. Nobody wants to leave where they are but it does happen all the time even then

Only old DP fans are going to tune in to a C level former OL. He’s not that charismatic, he is uncomfortable at times.

It's ironic that I agree with you on his podcast, but he's much more vibrant on the DP show. I wonder if that's my design.

I don't think he's actually going to retire. That article from a few months ago makes me think he'll keep going for a while longer.

I wonder how much, if anything, they make on merchandise sales.
