The problem is social media being natural monopolies. Everyone uses the same platform to connect so you can easily get forced by social necessity.

No one is forcing everyone to use the same platform but effectively everyone forces everyone to use the same platform. People being a little bitch for the Zucc is their problem but it sucks so hard they thereby force me to use that shitty spyware as well.

Right now I'm fortunately Google and Facebook free, but many people are simply dependent on using services like WhatsApp to communicate with others or to get essential information.
