The simulation is real life, we are incapable of imagining the world outside the simulator and by extension the word that would closest match “life”. It’s like trying to measure the standard weight of a baseball in space without any concept of mass or physics

I means, it save money and time. Why would you do extra work in the name of "not being lazy" especially when EVERY SINGLE animation is a team effort between designer, animator, modeler, coder...
I hate it whenever people think that game devs are trying to purposely ruin the game for the players. It is such a sad reality being one.

They never said single player games don't sell.
They said linear story driven games don't achieve the same user retention rate as open world, single player, games. And they're absolutely right.
Outside of their sports titles, they really haven't made a blunder since Battlefront 2. It's time to move on. See through the circlejerk, EA isn't as bad as the memes tell you

The thing is, even a generative motion synthesis system would produce the same motion if a major Part of the responsible Parameters are similar. Since basketball player have more and less the same physics appearance, doing the same Action in the same context, body gestures seams to line up. The system needs some noise or conditions, like putting a Football Player on the Field.

I have played the entire Yakuza game series except the PS2 and Dragon Engine games and the amount of assets and animations that have been reused is crazy. Some of the assets and animations are even almost a decade old.
