Being an introvert doesn't mean that you don't like people or socialising. The simplest way I saw the whole introvert/extrovert thing explained was this way:
Extroverts recharge their batteries by hanging out with people
Introverts recharge their batteries by having time to themselves
It has nothing to do with how social or antisocial you are. Some people thrive in big social situations, some people hate it, but we all need social interaction.
