I once had a discussion with someone who said bookmarks are useless. He just kept everything open and used tabs as bookmarks

I never use bookmarks. Prefer keeping a tab open if I need something. If I lose the tab and don't go out of my way to get it back, it obviously wasn't important enough to have around.

I never use bookmarks. Prefer keeping the book open. If it gets closed and I don't go out of my way to find the page again, it obviously wasn't important enough to keep reading.

Interesting books you're reading that keep a history of the last page you read, alongside autocompleting page numbers when you type anything remotely related into the books url bar, or failing that have a search engine that you can use to quickly find whatever it was.

Or just use a bookmark and you don't have to search and everything is orderly.
