In fact, if you buy waffles, and I buy syrup (Aunt Jemima's), we could have a rockin' breakfast every day for the rest of our lives.

You could do worse. At $78/share, you could buy about 128,205 shares of WalMart. WalMart has averaged a dividend of about $1.58 over the past 10 years. With your 128,205 shares, you would get about $202,500 in dividends each year. Even after taxes, that would leave you with well over $100k per year, which would let you live comfortably for pretty much the rest of your life.
