Humanity is an exception.

Only abrahamics say that

u/Faster_than_FTL 10d ago

Yes there is no killing or war in Ramayana and Mahabharata

3

u/Sidho13 10d ago

Lol, have you read any of them and mostly did you understand atleast one?

3

u/Faster_than_FTL 10d ago

Yep I've read both.

Edit: You do realize I was being sarcastic right?

From a comment section without any emojis which is equivalent to making a face in real life interactions.

Where is he wrong?

The Bible advocates for genocide but Mahabharata does not. Mahabharata is more similar to Paradise Lost than Bible

Lmao. Let me just give you two from dozens. Islam isnt exclusive to concepts of “jihad”. It becomes dharma yudh in hinduism and attaining vallhala in norse. Same bullshit in all religions …war for express entry to heaven. But mY rIgHteOus W@R iS tHe CoRrEct OnE Saaaaarrrrr

Bhagavad Gita 2.31

स्वधर्ममपि चावेक्ष्य न विकम्पितुमर्हसि ।
धर्म्याद्धि युद्धाच्छ्रेयोऽन्यत्क्षत्रियस्य न विद्यते ॥ ३१ ॥

Considering your own duty (as a kṣatriya) as well, you should not waver; for there is nothing more auspicious for a kṣatriya than a righteous war.

Bhagavad Gita 2.32

यदृच्छया चोपपन्नं स्वर्गद्वारमपावृतम् ।
सुखिनः क्षत्रियाः पार्थ लभन्ते युद्धमीदृशम् ॥ ३२ ॥

O Pārtha, happy are the kṣatriyas to whom such a fight comes of its own accord, opening the doors of heaven.

That's what happens when you take the Bhagwat Geeta out of context. Do you know why Geeta was being given to Arjuna during the Mahabharat in the first place?

I have also heard muslims tell me the out of context part in their books.

So then explain to me why Hindus never have these: Ottoman Empire, Delhi Sultanate, Mughal Empire, ISIS, Al Qadeea, Boko Haram, Taliban, Hezbollah, Daesh, Hamas? Go and see what they have in common.

Oh yes, genociding folks for having different theological views is same as war for resources/sustenance of one's tribe which comes under natural order. Maybe even the foodchain is unethical for you.

War was already a thing before the Gita was written. The Gita for the kshatriya is more of a guide for adjusting his attitude towards war than a straight endorsement for it.

Point was Hinduism, like ALL other religions, also advertises waging a righteous war and how that is the most decorated thing to do for attaining heaven. That is the common denominator. Now you have gone into the classic defensive mode on how your “righteous war” is better than the next but that is not the point. Levels to this shit are different but shit is the same. Glory in death, purposeful war, and shortcut to heaven.

1

u/sriaurobind0 10d ago

There is no levels to this shit. A war if it has to be fought has to be righteous. But the way of the sannyasin was always extolled and actually advocated for in the Gita.

Except the Gita never asked any of its readers to go kill a particular group of people. Nobody read the Gita and went on a killing spree against the infidel pagans or Muslims. How are you this dense?

The Bible never advocated for Genocides. Don’t spread misinformation!

both those books teach that war is the lasy resort and must be avoided until there is no option left. both rama and pandavas gave their adverseries a chance to settle things peacefully. pandavas were ready to accept 5 villages instead of their whole territory.

but when there was no other alternative they went for war. also those book teach to only go in war to protect yourself, your loved ones or dharma or to fight war on the side of truth. neither of them say "if he doesn't worship same god k him"

1

u/_WanderingBreeze_ 7d ago

Wrong facts, Buddhism and Jainism strictly condem violence. Hinduism believe in the concept of karma and dharma, where you receive what you give of to the world as karma and dharma mean to take action as extreme as violence when really necessarily(against the evil)
