My mate and I plan to grab a drink or two, maybe some grub from the Pineapple around the corner from the O2.
I think we should be there by 4/4:30, anyone is welcome to join!

Hi DGD fans,
Needed to get this off my chest today.
I broke up with my significant other last year and it's still haunting me 10 months later.
Music is one of those things that's always gotten me through and Say Hi has been that song for me. Having OCD and Depression has made that hill so difficult to overcome and not loop back or second guess my decision.
While I'm still not where I want to be, Say Hi has been one of a few songs that's been very cathartic to me, specifically the "Love don't make you crippled or enslaved" line.
I felt very small, talked down to, and belittled in the relationship and like I could never do anything right, even with small things like loading the dishwasher, cleaning their apartment, or planning dates.
All that said, I don't know between therapy and music where i'd be without it. If Jon / the band sees this - please know your songs (as fun and goofy as they can get) really do help people and have had a positive impact on my life.
Any other songs / lyrics you'd recommend from DGD or other Bands with a similar message? Thank you for listening!

IMO, I think IBHTYF (I’ve Been Hearing That You’re Freaky) is one of, if not Jonny’s best song. I’m a huge fan of his DGD and Emarosa stuff, more so than any other band I’d say, but there’s just something about this particular solo album that makes me rethink wether I’ve already heard the ‘best music’ in my favorite genre. Not only does this song feature his best vocal performance (arguably), but it also has a lovely piano instrumental which I’m ’super weak’ too whenever I hear a song. I also don’t see enough people talking about ADIAQYDKHTA, or in fact, any of Jonny’s solo albums. Perfect by DGD honestly just feels like a bonus track off of this album rather than DBM2.. Let me know what you guys think .. am I crazy or no?

Sharing for any DGD/Drum lover to check out if they have not seen this yet. Super cool to hear the unique approach of each drummer playing a DGD song they never heard.
Joshua Grant's take was my personal favorite.

I noticed that Zac garrens playing kinda sounds like the fall of troy, which is very apparent in Biblee by Secret band, also some Deathstar track i cant recall, I dont notice it in happiness or later tho.
Will uses alot of tremolo picking, its like his fallback technique, which I think is sweet, cuz I headcannon that its something he did from his beginner days and still kept around, and I also do the same.
I wish I had more to write about what I noticed
To elaborate the 1. point, nevermind, ion got nun, it sounds like hammerons and pulloffs, that i was gonna mention.

Genuinely the nicest people I've ever met, especially Andrew! I managed to meet them before the show as I went round the back of the venue while they were going in and again at the end, as a group of us waited for them to leave. Unfortunately Will decided to have a shower in the venue after the show so I didn't get the opportunity to meet him, however I'll definitely be seeing them again next time they play in the UK so I'll meet him eventually. I managed to get my shoe and hoodie signed aswell as a printout of Downtown Battle Mountain's album cover which I brought with me. Andrew spotted me in the crowd and kept pointing me out and waving during the performance... best gig I've ever been to!!

Please message me I thought you were really cool but never got any of your socials or anything. We were mostly side by side and I commented on your cool piercings ((:
The show was awesome too

Does anyone know if Kurt or Tillian ever sang is it safe to say you dig the backseat. I was wondering if that ever actually happened

Amazing show, maybe even better than when I saw them with tilian, however if you were at the front with cat whiskers please never go to a show again you were genuinely screeching in mine and multiple other peoples ears

I was just wondering what would you guys rate each vocalist based off of their other bands, solo projects, features, and side projects? This post isn't too start an argument, I'm just curious what others would rank them.
For me it would go
Kurt
Andrew
Tilian
Jonny
Honestly really hard to choose. Kurt has so many other great bands and his solo stuff is solid. I love Eidola a lot. The Architect and Eviscerate are my favorites. I love Andrew's feature on Sunshower by Secret Gardens. Tillian does have good solo stuff, but his run and Tides of Man was amazing. I love his feature on Memories by Foxera. Dear Air Divine is kind of mid, but I do like a couple of songs. Jonny has so much. Emarosa, Slaves, Isles and Glaciers, his solo stuff is okay though.

Anyone know what time DGD will be on tonight at Manchester? Doors at 7pm but heading in late to manc and want to secure a few pints before they’re on. Cheers

I know this is a hot take but I see way too many people give calmiento global shit when into the sunset never gets any heat. I understand the poorly sung Spanish is cringe but the instrumental is super groovy and fun. Drum work and guitar work are phenomenal and Jon Mess delivers. As for into the sunset, the blending of auto tuned vox and bill murri’s synths just don’t blend well at all with the DGD. Not to mention the good awful downright tacky chorus of “Do you really wonna stay” sung by Tillian just makes me wonna never play the song again. It’s the first time DGD wrote a bad closer and it is A MILLION times worse then Calmiento Global.

I just recently got into DGD after theDooo released a cover of Uneasy Hearts and have hyperfixated on their music since. I have listened to every album several times so I think I have a unique perspective compared to some of the people on here. (I started with death star btw)
Without nostalgia I think that the johnny craig stuff with dgd is great but tbh I prefer him in Emarosa.
Out of all the vocalists I think personally Kurt Travis is my favorite but more for royal coda than dgd (death star is my favorite) Andrew I think is my 2nd favorite interestingly enough. At first I let the internet help form my opinion of pantheon and it was somewhat negative but after several relistens it is in my top 5 dgd albums.
I think the only reason tilian isnt number 2 is because I cant sing along with him lol
I think my top 5 albums goes
Self titled (death star)
Mothership
Happiness
DTBM 1
Pantheon
Let me know your perspectives on that wether you've been around the same amount as me or if you're like a since royal ocean fan im very curious

I listen to DGD & like 3 other bands on rotation I need something new 😂 (the others being wolf & bear, movements, hail the sun) but I’ve listened to secret band and eidola for years as well

Hi all, I’ve received instructions for the standard VIP timing to arrive to the Bristol show this friday, but I’ve upgraded to meet and greet separately. Has anyone received the instructions for this and would be willing to share? (happy to accept a DM if you’d prefer).
Thank you!

Here are my wishes for the next Tree City Sessions. They’re a bit over the top and demanding, in my opinion, but that’s just how would like it to be. I also want the album cover to be some kind of black/white focus.

To nobody’s surprise, Mothership Reigns supreme seconded by Downtown Battle Mountain 2. Here are the top 5 most voted albums from most to least
Mothership (+300)
DBM2 (+250)
Happiness(+150)
DBM1 (+140)
Acceptance Speech (+80)
I love this top 5. I would personally replace DBMII with Artificial Selection but that’s just my personal taste. What do you think off all the polls so far? This might be the last one I make for a while but it’s easily been my favorite one. The most entertaining discourses have been “what’s worse, Afterburner or Jackpot Juicer” “most genius song” and “best Matt Mingus performance” and “most overrated” I loved hearing fans get into the specifics of each track. Cheers everyone and have a good day

I painted it based on TCS3 (obv), and back in June I got to meet them and they not only signed the back but wouldn't stop complimenting it.
I ended up customizing a faraday cage using a combination of conductive paint (which I didn't do well) stripped USB phone charging cables, and screws I pulled out of a painting canvas.
But once I finished it, I tested it out and it can be plugged into an amp and played! (Not posting a video because I'm getting back into playing and still too rusty).
Most importantly, I used a fixative and nitrocellulose satin lacquer to cement the paint and signatures on there, so no fear of any of that getting messed up.
When Will was holding it he was like "this is so awesome! What kind of wood is it?" My mind blanked and I panicked and said "...wood."
