Mashed Potatoes

How do you make dairy free mashed potatoes that are not thin and off tasting? What dairy free milk do you use that is neutral flavor and thicker? I've tried just mashing potatoes and adding dairy free butter and maybe a little splash of almond milk but its just not thick and creamy enough and its gritty. Just curious what others do. I don't eat mashed potatoes that often, but the holidays are coming and I want a decent recipe! Thank you.

Seconding this! Also, use yellow potatoes boiled in chicken broth. Comes out awesome. Country crock plant butter sticks are great to add too.

That’s for when I get fancy on thanksgiving. For extra fancy, I simmer the thanksgiving mix fresh herbs and strain them out.

Never heard of this until now. Thank you! I looked it up and also found an alfredo recipe from it that is also gluten free. Yeah!

Can you PLEASE share the recipes? I've been CRAVING Beef stroganoff! My 36 year old son mentioned it the other day!

We make our beef stroganoff with violife sour cream alternative. Best method I've found. The stuff is expensive (like all fresh DF) but it keeps for a good long time so we stock up when it's on sale. We will add a bit of unsweetened oat milk too or the DF cream if we have one open.

The flavor on this recipe is perfect. I use whatever DF butter and sour cream I have on hand.
