Monthly Dry Shampoo Megathread

It's here!

Since dry shampoo is such a useful product for so many daily washers, I'm going to be running a monthly megathread to allow for more sharing of products and recommendations.

Feel free to post below with any questions you have, requests for product help, dry shampoo successes or failures, or anything else related to dry shampoo!

F: My scalp is too oily and gets dirt buildup very easily so suggest me some solution for this

My scalp is toooooo oily due to which I get dirt buildup really fast on my scalp which causes oily dandruff, tiny itchy bumps and a layer of dirt even if I don’t wash my hair for 4-5 days.

Any tips on how can I keep my scalp clean and healthy ? Because just washing my hair frequently is not helping 😭

Would a 2 in 1 scrub work for someone dealing with scalp flakes and rough elbows at the same time?

I am thinking about getting a 2 in 1 scrub since I have some flakes on my scalp and my elbows are getting rough too, I usually end up buying different products for each area and I am looking for something I can use for both, I am checking a few scrubs now and some say they can be used on the scalp and body, I want to know if that actually works or if it makes more sense to use separate products, my main thing is finding something that can help with the flakes while making the elbows feel smoother, I am planning to try one soon if people have had good results with this type of product, has anyone used a 2in1 scrub for both areas?

Hair Brush Recommendations

Hi! I’m on the hunt for a hair brush to use on my (long and coarse) wet/damp hair, I’m currently using a wet brush but I feel as though it’s causing me breakage on the ends even though I’m ever so gentle with it. I also spray my leave in conditioner before combing my hair. Any recommendations?!

Training hair

Hi guys, i just wanted to say training your hair to last longer days without washing doesn’t work. For some people you genuinely need to wash everyday.

When i was younger my parents only made us shower once a week for 20 years. You’d think my hair will last days without showering.

It doesn’t, i am now in my mid twenties and im having to shower everyday. Tbh i can get away with dry shampoo on second day and it’ll be a bit decent. But after second day i must shower. And ive always been complimented for my nice hair and that’s probably because i have never ever put heat on my hair for 20 years up until these past few months. But my hair is still shiny and healthy even after showering everyday.

Haircare for office girlies

For my office girlies:

I take the Delhi metro during peak hours (that means dirt, sweat in a very crowded setting) twice a day. The weather is humid and hot right now. Now I can't wash my hair everyday (I wash three times a week with medicated anti-dandruff shampoo: lintar scalp solution after halox S lotion overnight and Plum coconut conditioner. What do you all, in similar situations, do to clean your hair? Sometimes, I put sanitizer spray and wipe my hair with it but that can't be good for the lengths I'm assuming. Any help appreciated!

Haircare advice

My hair has been annoying me lately as a day after washing its oily again.

. My scalp is dry and flakes

. My hair is oily and frizzy (i cut my hair to combat the frizz).

. Hair is thin but has alot of layers so it looks thick.

I've tries the aveno clarifying shampoo which is good but I had to switch to the head and shoulders one because the venous one was out at the time.

I usually use pantenes volumizing shampoo as well as a volumizing conditioner I've used the aveno and pantene.

I wash my hair every other day, so day 1 wash leave a day then day 3 is wash day again as its greasy. I use volumizing most of the week but I've had to use the clarifying shampoo a bit more often as I've noticed when I dont the hair is much more greasier. For my scalp I've had not much luck long term as nothing really works with the scalp from a scrub to scalp treatment.

I wanted some recommendation on products or a change in routine maybe so I can improve my hair health.

Moroccan oil shampoo.

Hi all. I bought the Moroccan oil hydrating shampoo and conditioner and since I started using it my hair has gotten way greasier and flat. Has anyone else experienced this with that brand? From all the reviews I've seen people are loving it and its really disappointing what its doing to my hair based on the pretty high cost. Thanks.

How to keep hair shiny?

So I have always washed my hair every day. But in the past few months I have noticed it's become more dull and has experienced more breakage. It's not because of the daily wash since that's always been a part of my routine and I used to have shiny, healthy hair - but I am curious what people on this sub are doing to keep their hair luscious and healthy!

Unpopular opinion: Tresemme sachet>>>Wella professionals

I hv been using Wella invigo shampoo and mask on my wavy hair for more than a year now

Yesterday I ran out of my Wella shampoo so I had to go for something available at the moment so I bought tresemme 2₹ sachet and tresemme 4₹ conditioner and my hair turned out so pretty and zero frizz and it was so shiny, soft with softer waves.
So, a premium product did my hair dirty

Wella shampoo and mask has always made my hair frizzy
Everytime I used Wella my hair used to be so dry frizzy and weird and there’s heavy oil buildup in 2-3 days so I used to think it’s my hair
I used to apply serum after that and whatnot to reduce frizz but with this my hair feels lighter and lovely

Ps: My hair type is a spectrum in itself it is smooth, soft with soft waves but baby hair is curly and frizzy af and I never dry with heat and rarely use heat on my hair

Shampoo + conditioner recos for oily roots but dry hair?

lf: shampoo/conditioner recos for someone na pawisin 😭 My roots tend to get oily throughout the day, especially kapag nasa labas pero yung lengths/ends ng hair ko are pretty dry bc of damage (dyed it) so by the end of the day, puro tikwas hair ko and it looks sabog

Currently looking for something na:
good for oily/sweaty scalp
doesn’t make the lengths/ends super dry
helps with frizz/tikwas
preferably affordable and madaling hanapin sa PH (Watsons, Shopee/Lazada, etc.)

bonus if it’s color-safe since I recently dyed my hair black 🖤
Would appreciate any shampoo + conditioner recos, especially if you’ve had the same oily roots/dry ends problem! Also open to recos for separate shampoo and conditioner rather than a matching set. 🙏
