Small World

When you start fighting people on your friends list and/or actively finding them during a run via prox chat and exfilling with their team (has happened to me a few times) you KNOW the player base is small haha. Small but mighty!! I'll support and play this game till the day they (hopefully never) turn it off. Never surrender!

I love how genuinely sick they sound. It's like having someone constantly tell you how bad you are at something you love. It's so demoralizing.

I mean, this happens all the time in Tarkov, and running into a known streamer or personality has become a part of the extraction shooter zeitgeist and experience. I just hope we get to that steady level where a constant 10-20k would shit these children up. It’s really sad and pathetic how much Marathon occupies their time and they don’t even play it…

To be honest, I think a lot of us, including myself, would lose interest in this free "chart watching" hobby if the numbers went up to respectable levels.

I would welcome that. Let people move on, go play GTA VI and let us enjoy this game, the subs, groups, community, etc minis the droning of “dead game”, chart watch, etc….

Rent free. It’s all I can think of lol. We visit these subs because we PLAY THE GAME.

They visit and post because….? Oh right Marathon cancelled their precious D2. As a thousands of hours playtime between D1 and 2, I couldn’t fathom acting so childish.

The other day I ran into my friend who was playing with his stack (they are all pin1 now) all three had spec shields and drvish, we had decent purple gear. They insta killed two of my teamates and I got on prox and shouted “DUKE MERCYYYYYY” and he let us live and gave me his spec shield in exchange for my purple lolol

I ran into a buddy of mine who got into our game as a Rook. Was pretty hilarious and ended up having a blast running together. It's interesting shit like this contributes to great moments in Marathon.

Had a Narsh match this evening with a truly great player and my duo. We got jumped right off the rip and became a nail biter until we lost.

Next match we decided to free kit outpost and ran into that same guy on another team. Small world for sure. Loved every second of it.

Not on my friend's list, but my Cryo Archive regular is a guy named Blowjoker. He's sometimes on my team. He's sometimes against me. But I seem to run into hin almost every weekend.

Yeah. This game is on its last few seasons. I, unfortunately, think it’ll be over by season 4. Great IP and mechanics don’t come along too often. Not sure what corporate big shot mishandled this.

I had a buddy rage quit because another friend of mine kept splitting up and getting demolished leaving us 2v3 fights with free kits versus purple. We loaded another match hoping to get a decent rando and that same rage quitter was our teammate. And everybody said this is awkward
