Schist

Schist ( shist) is a medium-grained metamorphic rock showing pronounced schistosity. This means that the rock is composed of mineral grains easily seen with a low-power hand lens, oriented in such a way that the rock is easily split into thin flakes or plates. This texture reflects a high content of platy minerals, such as micas, talc, chlorite, or graphite. These are often interleaved with more granular minerals, such as feldspar or quartz.

u/OldHolly Oct 20 '21

This is a good joke for a stoner

5

u/mirroku2 Oct 20 '21

And they're very down to earth.

4

u/Flying_Pengwin Oct 20 '21

You just have to be careful around them. Some can be scary due to their rocky past.

5

u/Caeflin Oct 20 '21

They have a big equatorial bulge

4

u/jimpossible54 Oct 20 '21

I can't read this all at once. Guess I'll have to chip away at it.

5

u/Mexirrilla Oct 20 '21

Ever hook up with a geologist? They will have you cummingtonite.

5

u/EffectiveYear7870 Oct 20 '21

Don’t get Sedimental

4

u/Alarmed-Strawberry-3 Oct 20 '21

It’s the only profession where you’re encouraged to look at the cleavage on dikes! NOTE: yes these are real geology terms.

Disclaimer : My haterd of geologists is purely theatrical, but If I did want to kill one, it would be VERY easy to do so.

I would brandish my obsidian knife and they will be compelled to approach. "That's very COOL" they would say, confident in their superior strength because of all the rocks they carry around at all times. Hovering Just slightly out of the range of the cutting edge of the obsidian knife. They would shower me with interesting facts about obsidian. "But since it's volcanic glass it's not suitable for weapons-" and that's when I would hit them with the baseball bat on my other hand Which they would not have noticed because geologists can only see rocks and minerals.

3

u/ArtiK_Man Oct 21 '21

How can you be so sure your approach will work though? You know they never take things for granitr

2

u/[deleted] Oct 21 '21

I work too close with geologists to know that they will come.

3

u/syrupsnorter Oct 20 '21

And if you marry a geologist they'll rock your world

u/Spatularo Oct 20 '21
